The Role:
|
- Responsible for supervising the members of the RCM department, assuring that all duties within the areas of responsibility follow our HIPAA privacy standards, all state and local laws, our Accrediting agency, OSHA, Medicare/Medicaid, Third-Party and private payor guidelines, and that established Collection techniques are followed consistently. Promotes adherence to all corporate policies, practices and compliance programs. Enables teams to meet production, quality, aging and cash goals by encouraging increased production and being available for questions and additional coaching. Under direction, researches, formulates and executes management reports detailing production of the collection’s specialist, unworked inventory and aged account details.

Responsibilties:

Leadership:
- Trains and introduces new members of the department to the functions and responsibilities of the team. Assures that they are familiar with equipment, routine and standards of the department. Monitors progress of team members and informs them of changes in procedures, technologies, policies and practices.
- Ensures that team follows departmental policies and procedures and are applying HIPAA and PHI regulations effectively. May audit systems usage and team performance; reports results to Revenue Cycle leaders and may facilitate coaching and counseling of teammates as directed.
- Assist the Revenue Cycle leaders in maintaining good employee relations within the department; supports the success of the department by assisting team members in reaching their potential, encouraging proficiency and meeting departmental expectations.
- Adapts to stressful situations and demonstrates multi-tasking capabilities when dealing with frequent changes in an ever-evolving work environment; inspires staff to remain focused during high productivity periods.
- Implements change in a constructive and beneficial manner, recognizing the need for change and the results of improved work processes.
- Provides exceptional service to patients, internal and external customers and third-party payors; interacts in a professional manner with all contacts to promote effective exchanges of information.
Analysis:
- Assists team with the efficient analysis and resolution of all unpaid and aged claims; monitors productivity and reports shifts to Revenue Cycle leaders to verify the team can meet team goals established by management.
- Generates daily and monthly reports that facilitate workflow metrics and audit processes for department; distributes to designated staff.
- Assists with the implementation of new technologies, tools or system applications that can increase production.
- Reviews departmental issues that impact the team’s ability to process work within the departments scope; conduct process review for quality assurance purposes and to assure that the team is utilizing most efficient methods for processing of work.
- Performs job responsibilities within established regulatory guidelines (HIPAA / PHI, Medicare/Medicaid, et. al.) and reports non-compliant activity to the correct parties; protects patient and company confidentiality in all matters of Reimbursement.
- In the absence of the Revenue Cycle Leader, assumes responsibility for any departmental issues.

- Travel required as needed.

Basic Qualifications
|
- High School Diploma Required
- +2 years of leadership experience
- A minimum of 4+ years of experience in healthcare payor and/or provider organizations with demonstrated functional knowledge in revenue cycle management.
- 3+ years of DME experience will be a plus
- Knowledge of governmental payors, medical terminology, regulatory compliance, and billing codes, specifically of diagnostic and procedural terminology, ICD and CPT/HCPCS coding systems, understanding of EOBs/ERNs and compliance rules.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work successfully as an individual and team contributor.
- Strong working knowledge of advanced Excel.
- Strong working knowledge / understanding of PowerBI Apps
Preferred Qualifications
• Business Administration degree preferred.
