Production Supervisor (Night Shift)

This is a permanent-full time position to work in our Cartago site, located in Zona Franca La Lima. Medical insurance, asociation, gym, cafeteria subsidy, free transportation and other, are part of our benefits package.

 

Our Production Supervisor supports and ensures the success of the manufacturing lines and its employees.  This position is responsible for meeting and/or exceeding the weekly output goals, improving processes and developing employees through training and other opportunities.  This position is highly visible and requires a leadership style with regular presence in the areas of responsibility as well as other departments.

 

Major Areas of Accountability:

  • People management responsibilities for the manufacturing floor.
  • Gather and analyze data and make recommendations on improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Utilize Lean principles for making improvements. 
  • Work with Planner on build plan adherence to ensure customer satisfaction. 
  • Work with supply chain, warehouse, and materials on inventory accuracy. 
  • Partner with other departments on production requirements for project support. 
  • Responsible for development plans and performance review for staff.
  • Partner with engineering on trouble shooting equipment/processes issues. 
  • Work with finance on identification of adjustments to work order/inventory/improvement opportunities.
  • Assist Leads and direct reports in analyzing and resolving work problems.
  • Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment and projects.
  • Interpret company policies for workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Establish or adjust work schedules to meet production requirements.
  • Any additional tasks requested by the direct leader
  • Performing their job in compliance with the guidelines given
  • Drawing attention to the manager to any difficulties in understanding or following the guidelines
  • Drawing attention to inefficiency of the system
  • Take responsibility for those safety aspects identified for the given position
  • Support the positive EHS culture


Essential Qualifications:

  • University degree (B. A./B.S.) or with more than 75% of completion
  • People management experience in manufacturing companies.
  • From 1 to 3 years related experience and/or related training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advance knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficient English level, minimum B1.
  • Experience improving manufacturing operations using Lean and Six Sigma techniques
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously


Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in medical devices company
  • Black Belt or Lean certification is a plus
  • Experience working with inventory management systems.
  • Work experience in FDA or regulated industry
  • General knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems

  • People leadership.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule. 
  • Proficient on production capacity analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Able to develop staff.
  • Operational excellence, continuous improvement or lean manufacturing knowledge.
  • Capable to lift up to 20 kg
