Cost Controlling Analyst

This is a full time position to work in our Cartago site located in Zona Franca La Lima. Work remotely is part of the work mode with 2 days per week. 

 

The Cost Controlling Analyst is a member of the finance department, focus in production, responsible of cost and price controlling, special focus on direct variable cost (DVC); perform detailed analyzes of operational and financilas costs, identify optimization opportunities ,  working directly with the Production Support Controller with internal/external reporting and planning. 

The main objective is to monitor , analyze and control production costs and prices in the manufacturing process.


Major Areas of Accountability: 

  • Evaluate direct and indirect costs related to production and operation.
  • Factory Cost price update process.  Yearly Cost Rollup calculation
  • Responsible for Manufacturing Accounting mainly related with Work Orders
  • Daily sparring partner for CAR organization (quality, value stream manager, planners, etc.)
  • Analysis of manufacturing variances, Work Order Variances, cost component checking, etc.
  • Support preparation and analysis Production settlement, Material and Labor reports.
  • Able to teach others with patience, order and understanding.
  • Participation in physical stock-take, giving guidance and support to the VS.
  • Support in forecasting related with Cost and Production Field.
  • Perform comparative cost anlysis on  Value Streams.
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to costs and prices.
  • Cooperation with Business Centre, HQ controllers and other production sites.
  • Change Control and Change Actions analysis and approval.
  • Customization and improvement of actual procedures or creation when needed.
  • Ad hoc reports or additional analysis requested from any internal client.
  • Any additional related with production and costs.
  • Care for optimizing costs through accurate analysis.

Responsible of:

  • Performing their job in compliance with the guidelines given
  • Drawing attention to the manager to any difficulties in understanding or following the guidelines
  • Drawing attention to inefficiency of the system
  • Take responsibility for those safety aspects identified for the given position
  • Support the positive EHS culture

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting / Finance / Economics or related areas. Preferably Costs emphasis.
  • More than years 5 of working in Cost and accounting and financial controlling, in multinational manufacturing companies, (European manufacturing or industries companies is a plus). 
  • 3 years of proven cost roll experience. 
  • B2 English level.
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Excel spreadsheet software, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word processing software; Cognos knowledge an advantage.
  • Extensive knowledge of operations service and production costs.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
