The role


The clinical education and training of the Patients referred for Self-Intermittent catheterisation, in order to minimise the risk of UtI’s. The nurse must establish a sound working relationship with the referring Doctors in order to develop their confidence in the Coloplast Value proposition and the clinical Team The nurse will work closely with the Sales developer to create awareness of the Coloplast Brand and Value Proposition 
 

What will you be responsible for?

  • Training on the technique of Self-Intermittent catheterisation of pts according to the referral HCP script
  • Patient education on the importance of a bladder routine
  • Getting the supporting documentation from referring HCP for medical aid submission
  • Providing the referring Specialist or HCP with feedback regarding the progress of the patient referred.
  • Submission of complete document packs to Care within 72 hours of receipt of Doctor’s documentation Clinical health checks to ensure patients remain compliant to the bladder protocol prescribed, as per Coloplast Protocols. Patient education on the prevention, identification and management of Urinary Tract Infections
  • Establishment of good working relationship with the referring Specialists and HCP’s
  • Reporting of Coloplast activities on Sales Force e.g logging of healthchecks
  • Completion of tasks as issued by the Consumer Team according to the deadlines set
  • Support of the Sales Developer during product training in the key accounts
  • Facilitation of Patient days, as laid out per the Annual Business Plan.
  • Attendance of Coloplast meetings, workshops and functions
  • Maintaining correct patient records and the submission of these according to Coloplast systems
  • Completion of necessary reports to the Nursing Team lead, within the dead-lines set

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing, or equivalent Tertiary Education
  • Registration with South African Nursing Council (Current)

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Anatomy Physiology and Pathophysiology of the Urinary System
  • Knowledge on how to use Outlook
  • Knowledge on how to use Word
  • Ability to read a clinical study and to be able to apply the knowledge gained in their daily practice.
  • 3 -5 years of relevant working experience in a similar function
  • Be a flexible team player, be able to work independently, prioritize own work
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Have a positive attitude and be pro-active and solutions orientated
  • Have excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to work to work under pressure and within short time constraints
  • Show drive and determination for all tasks
