Sales Training Manager

Job Function Summary

The Endo Sales Training Manager will be responsible for supporting the sales and marketing initiatives through the design, development, coordination and implementation of ongoing sales training programs that includes: selling skills, sales process, business acumen, clinical knowledge, and market development strategies. This role is to help create a collaborative and cohesive work environment between education, sales, and marketing in order to create successful and highly productive sales professionals.

 

Major Areas of Accountability

  • Develop and coordinate core content covering product knowledge, customer knowledge, key clinical data, as well as relevant selling environment information to ensure new hires are fully knowledgeable of all key focus areas for Coloplast.
  • Lead Endo Sales Training Phases for all new hires.  Leverage the Challenger Sales Process into training phases and continuum of education for all sales representatives.
  • Partner with Field Sales Trainers (FST), Regional Sales Directors (RSDs), and physician faculty in the execution of in-house courses and field/web based training activities.
  • Manage third party educational platforms, effectively communicate with outside partners, and ensure launches are executed successfully.  
  • Partner with Training and Education Partners to coordinate classes, make travel arrangements, identify and contact physician faculty and FSTs for all Sales Training events.
  • Manage Peer Mentor program for development of new hire TMs through partnership with FST and RSD to support a "mentoring mentality" among the FSTs to help prepare them for management opportunities as appropriate.
  • Work/travel with field sales representatives in a training capacity with emphasis on developing core competencies of new hires and FSTs.
  • Partner with RSDs in the design, development, and assessment of field training programs and tools/resources.
  • Lead the cost analysis, budget preparation, and fiscal operation of the sales training programs and related events.
  • New-Hire and continue education of TMs in the field.
  • Maintain and improve training curriculum for tenured TMs to improve core competencies.
  • Conform with Coloplast Code of Conduct and all local Compliance Standards.
  • Conform with Coloplast Q/EHS Policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or relevant area is required.
  • 5+ years of successful sales experience in medical field with emphasis on hospital selling, OR surgical case support, and contract negotiations with hospital purchasing groups.
  • 3+ years’ experience developing and implementing sales training programs and/or experience as a designated/compensated field sales trainer is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of continuing professional development, adult education principles, and instructional design. Well versed in established professional medical content creation and familiarity with CME/ CE/ CPD standards. Strong communication skills. Self-motivated.
  • Urology/Urogynecology experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are essential
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint proficiency required
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work within deadlines is essential
  • Willingness and ability to travel (30-50%)
