The role –

As a Warehouse Team Leader you will monitor colleague performance and systems and make sure productivity targets are met. You will ensure workplace health and safety standards and the security of the building and stock. Working with the support of the Deputy Team Leaders to ensure all daily functions are met. You will also be proactive in personnel issues including the training, mentoring and coaching of staff along with a keen eye for detail in conducting/participating project related initiatives.

  • Drive productivity by optimal deployment of employee resource at all times
  • People management responsibility in conducting 1 to 1 discussions with team members
  • Engaging and proactively collaborating with both internal and external customers and stakeholders
  • Keeping stock control systems up to date and making sure inventories are accurate through Root Cause Analysis
  • Planning future capacity requirements, maximizing resource eliminating overtime as much as possible
  • Organizing the training and development of staff including supervisors, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress. Ensure all training and work records are kept up to date for full audit purposes
  • Motivating, organizing, and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
  • Producing regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly, monthly basis 
  • Where directed by a maintenance schedule, maintain all equipment within your area and keep records as per requirements
  • Lead and participate in Projects and ‘Rapid Improvement Events’ to deliver efficiency improvements
  • Maintain housekeeping standards throughout DC (5S)

  • An engaging and effective communicator, with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Process and results driven, with experience in meeting and exceeding challenging KPI’s
  • Excellent decision making and problem solving skills, able to exercise logical and sound judgment
  • Remain calm and professional when working under pressure, able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, adaptable to change, resilient to stress and conflicting demands
  • Good mediation skills, with basic understanding of Employment Law & HR practices is desirable 

 

Essential:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ Team Leader experience within a fast paced logistics/ manufacturing environment demonstrating the following in your role –
  • People management skills, including the ability to lead and motivate others, delegate work and explain ideas
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Extensive experience in a leading operations / warehouse teamleader role, able to demonstrate a ‘hands-on’ approach
  • Extensive knowledge of ERP and Warehouse Management Systems 

 

Desirable:

  • Certification in LEAN / Six Sigma (Green Belt / Black Belt etc.)
  • Undergraduate or Masters Degree in Logistics / Supply Chain or similar field
