Market Access Manager

Coloplast Limited is a leading international healthcare company.  We are currently recruiting into the role of Market Access Manager reporting to our Head of Market Access.  This role will be field based, with the requirement to attend meetings at our Head Office in Peterborough once per month as a minimum.

The role:

The Market Access Manager is strategically important for the reimbursement of our innovation pipeline and to support local access strategy, working closely with field and head office based market access teams, marketing teams and the global market access teams to deliver on the UK and Ireland Annual Business Priorities.


Essential duties, accountabilities and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing market access plans that deliver on local insights as part of the business unit planning process
  • Support reimbursement activities including the writing and development of Value Dossiers, submissions to Drug Tariff and NICE’s Medical Technologies Evaluation Programmes
  • Working closely with marketing and field-based market access teams to ensure local market access plans are aligned to the business unit priorities, influencing as appropriate
  • Work with the Health Economics Manager to use both internal and external data sources and knowledge banks to develop clear, evidenced value messages and tools to support the full value offering of Coloplast products and services
  • Position our current product portfolio within the relevant clinical pathways
  • Ensure appropriate training/roll out of material, including monitoring effectiveness of use
  • Working collaboratively to develop strategies and tools to support the field market access teams to remove local NHS barriers to gain appropriate access to our current portfolio
  • Support Marketing and field-based market access teams with targeted and segmented tools and materials to maintain/defend local formulary position
  • Develop and maintain a relevant payer stakeholder map and engagement plan, highlighting the key roles and responsibilities of gatekeepers managing or commissioning the funding of Coloplast products
  • Develop funding pathways for the current Coloplast portfolio within the UK health systems
  • Support Marketing to map the disease pathways for Coloplast products to understand how patients are treated and by whom
  • Deliver an aligned approach to clinical pathway management, ensuring that local requirements are aligned to National Strategy
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of innovative pricing strategies to protect and grow business
  • Identify unmet payer needs in relation to the Coloplast current product and service portfolio, including conducting primary research with payers and other relevant stakeholders

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Experience working in the field of Market Access within the UK MedTech and/or pharmaceutical market
  • Robust understanding of market access strategies and tactical execution.
  • Expert knowledge of current NHS structures, decision-making bodies, processes & policies, funding flows, payer stakeholders and the payer environment
  • Excellent understanding of the NHS and payer customer needs for value arguments based on clinical evidence and cost-effectiveness
  • Educated to degree level in (health) economics or life sciences (or equivalent)
  • Good knowledge of NHS data sources and associated governance requirements
  • Experience of working in a Marketing role or closely with a Marketing team
  • Ability to evaluate clinical and economic literature
  • Demonstrable networks into local and regional NHS bodies and Payer stakeholders
  • The ability to plan at a business unit level of complexity.
  • Evidence of leading high level projects involving senior NHS/Social Care stakeholders
  • Experience of developing or overseeing the development of value tools within a MedTech or pharmaceutical company (desirable)
  • Basic Health Economics
