The job

Reporting to the Director - UK Distribution, the role of Logistics Admin Manager will have full line management, review and development responsibility for the Logistics Team and is needed to deliver excellent levels of customer service and team performance in accordance with agreed targets.  This is a role that will give you the chance to make a real difference to people’s lives as we connect together people who need essential medical appliances with Coloplast’s innovative products and services.


Key responsiblities will include; 

  • Team Leadership – Full line management responsibility for the Logistics Team of 6. Motivates, organizes and encourages teamwork within the Logistics Team to support the operation to ensure KPI’s are met or exceeded. Arranges the training and development of Logistics staff and manages staff performance through regular 1-2-1s and twice yearly PDPs. Focuses work on improving the employee engagement score year on year through people survey.
  • Demand Management - Provides effective demand forecasting to multiple stakeholders. Responsible for the forecast demand of Charter complimentary items, working closely with Procurement to establish best supply options and ensure continuous supply to the customer. Defines SLA’s with the Sales function and translates forecasts into capacity impacts. Proactively co-ordinates between internal departments to understand and effectively manage fluctuations in demand and drives improved communication of performance.
  • Non Coloplast Products – Accountable for the purchase and supply of circa £40m of competitor product per annum. Works with suppliers to agree SLAs and align on delivery schedules. Ensures correct portfolio and volumes of products is available to meet both the seasonal demands and growth of the business.
  • KPIs - Defines guidelines for the warehouse and monitors performance of specific KPI’s (e.g. warehouse space utilisation, FIFO, WFRL), etc. Promotes both transformational and cultural change in the DC, moving from manual to automated reporting at every opportunity.
  • Inventory GovernanceResponsible for the overall stock integrity of the UK DC, overseeing a portfolio of 13,000 SKUs with a value of circa £40m at any given point in time. Prepares for and co-ordinates annual stock counts or cycle counting to meet external audit requirements.
  • Transportation management – Part of the management of the contract with transporters and drives Continuous Improvement. Defines guidelines for the warehouse and monitors performance and cost. Monitors invoice control, inbound/outbound customs and challenges sales in service selection.
  • Launch / De-Launch of New Products – Co-ordinates new products / phasing out of old products with SCM. Monitors and maintains Base Data.
  • Samples and Homepacks – Ensures that the kitting process ifs managed effectively to ensure that SLAs are met.
  • Project Management – Initiate, champion own and deliver LEAN projects in the UKDC. Driving continuous improvement through coaching others through projects.
  • Continuous Improvement - Ensures team adherence to standard processes, procedures and ‘Best Practice’. Fully participates in Lean events & activities to help UK Distribution continuously improve. Maintains housekeeping standards throughout the Distribution Centre (6S). Identify areas of waste, undergo Root Cause analysis and ensure Corrective and Preventive actions are completed.


Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Must be able to demonstrate a minimum 2 years’ experience in a key Demand Management / Resource Planning role within a fast-paced operational environment. (essential);
  • Must have previous management/supervisory experience, including the ability to lead and motivate others, delegate work and explain ideas;
  • Working knowledge and experience of distribution processes and procedures is desired, but not essential;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills, with proven high attention to detail
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Good working knowledge of company systems (Siebel, E1 etc.)
