Job Function Summary

The role will be responsible for ensuring we are consistently listening and responding to customers in product development and portfolio life cycle management.  This will involve market research, customer advisory boards, and developing forecasts and business cases.  This position will partner closely with colleagues in Global Marketing (based in Denmark) and key stakeholders across the organization to provide customer input to drive product development and portfolio expansion plans that meet business objectives. The Senior Upstream Market Manager (MM) position leads the short & long-term strategic marketing responsibility to accelerate the upgrade of the US market to our innovative catheter platforms.

The MM works closely with the Continence Care (CC) Marketing team and across the organization, implement strategic marketing plans, develop and deploy programs/campaigns, and manage specific projects in support of increasing the standard of Care in the US.

 

 

Major Areas of Accountability

Major functions are described below.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage the CC portfolio, proactively manage downstream product needs in support of US marketing strategies and provide market assessments and sales expectations for upstream products to Global Marketing to prepare for future product launches
  • Analyzes unmet needs to identify product and service opportunities. Able to summarize qualitative and quantitative studies, drawing actionable conclusions for the business.
  • Develops forecasts and business cases and pricing recommendations
  • Maintain a solid understanding of the market by monitoring the competitive market dynamics, pricing, and reimbursement information, identifying trends or changes that will impact business, and recommending actions and contingency plans to maximize opportunities for Coloplast.
  • Interface regularly with customers and sales team through travel, healthcare associations, and symposia, and hospital sites to better understand and deliver against customer needs.
  • Presents conclusions and recommendations to executive leadership in a concise and compelling manner.
  • Champion in commercialization of strategies & activities across many business functional areas, including
  • Executive Management, Field Sales, DTC, Market Access, Key account managers & National Accounts, Global marketing, Legal & Regulatory Affairs and Research & Development

Basic Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Business, Marketing or similar, MBA preferred 
  • 5+ years Marketing experience, preferably in the healthcare field
  • Demonstrated ability to work across functions to prioritize and drive strategic objectives   
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation with a strong sense of accountability
  • Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems with minimal direction and make decisions with confidence
  • Aptitude to successfully prioritize and manage multiple tasks while adhering to deadlines
  • Approximately 25-30% travel (1-2 times International per year, 2 times per month national per year)
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint proficiency required

  • Competitive Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $128,529 - $192,793. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses and/or incentives.
