The Sales Commission Analyst owns the commission process for the Interventional Urology field sales organization. This role serves as the subject matter expert for Xactly, ensures accurate and timely commission payments, analyzes plan performance and trends, and partners with People & Culture, sales leadership, commercial excellence, and finance to design, model, administer, and communicate variable pay programs that motivate the sales team and support business priorities.

Sales compensation is a critical link between business strategy and field execution. In this role, you will help ensure our sales teams understand their incentive plans, trust the accuracy of their payouts, and have compensation programs that encourage the right behaviors while supporting financial discipline and business growth.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable translating complex compensation data into clear insights and practical recommendations. They are motivated by accuracy, continuous improvement, and building trusted partnerships with sales, finance, and People & Culture stakeholders.

Major Areas of Accountability

 

Modeling & Analysis

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Xactly, including system configuration, plan rules, data validation, reporting, troubleshooting, and user support.
  • Maintain and update Xactly to reflect approved commission plan changes, ensuring plan rules, calculations, and reporting remain aligned with plan documents.
  • Translate commission plan design into accurate system rules, calculations, and reporting outputs.
  • Partner in commission plan design by modeling payout scenarios, assessing financial implications, and recommending changes that align incentives with business and financial objectives.
  • Partner with the commercial excellence team on quota setting, including data analysis, scenario modeling, and leadership-ready recommendations.
  • Model financial scenarios based on plan design, quota attainment, and performance trends, then communicate projected payout and business impacts to finance and sales leadership.
  • Develop clear communications and training materials that help field sales team members understand plan design, payout calculations, and performance outcomes.

 

Commissions Administration

  • Manage the commission payout process to ensure field sales team members are paid accurately, on time, and in accordance with approved plan documents and policies.
  • Develop, document, and continuously improve commission guidance, policies, controls, and processes to support accuracy, consistency, and transparency.
  • Ensure commission payments are supported by appropriate documentation, approvals, and audit trails.
  • Prepare and present compensation results, trends, plan effectiveness insights, and recommended actions to sales and finance leadership for review and approval.
  • Research and resolve commission questions, calculation issues, and payout discrepancies with timely, accurate, and customer-focused support.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and standardize commission processes, reporting, and controls as the business evolves.

 

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, analytics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in sales compensation, commission administration, sales operations, or a related analytical role.
  • Experience with Xactly or a similar incentive compensation management system, including plan configuration, data validation, reporting, and system updates.
  • Solid understanding of sales compensation concepts, including quotas, accelerators, thresholds, payout calculations, and plan documentation.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with advanced Excel capabilities and experience using reporting or data visualization tools to analyze trends and communicate insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain models, reports, and analyses, then explain findings clearly to cross-functional audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently, meet deadlines, and maintain a high degree of accuracy in a deadline-driven commission cycle.
  • Ability to communicate financial and compensation information clearly to executive leaders, sales leaders, field sales team members, and non-finance audiences.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the medical device or healthcare industry.
  • Advanced degree such as an MBA or equivalent
  • Collaborative approach to problem solving, with the ability to build trusted relationships across global and cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and energized by a fast-paced environment characterized by growth, change, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions independently, challenge existing processes constructively, and create scalable best practices.
  • Experience with Cognos, Enterprise One, Salesforce, data warehouse structures, or other reporting and enterprise systems

    Competitive Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $69,526 - $104,289. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses and/or incentives.
