Production Supervisor 1 

Coloplast has an exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor to join our growing team!

 

The Production Supervisor supports and ensures the success of the manufacturing team.  This position is responsible for meeting or exceeding the monthly output goals, improving processes, and developing employees through training and other opportunities.  This position is highly visible and requires a leadership style with regular presence in manufacturing.

 

This position controls direct variable costs by monitoring employee labor hours, completing necessary paperwork to ensure compliance, and efficiently managing production staffing.

 

Major Areas of Accountability:

  • People management responsibilities for manufacturing employees (production operators and leads).
  • Meet monthly build plans to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Gather data and make recommendations on improvements to production methods and quality of product.
  • Work with warehouse and materials on inventory accuracy.
  • Execute on production requirements for project support.
  • Partner with engineering on trouble shooting equipment/process issues.
  • Work with finance on identification of adjustments to work orders and routings.
  • Partner with quality to investigate and determine root-cause of non-conformances; take appropriate action(s) to address.
  • Interpret company policies for workers and enforce safety regulations.
  • Establish or adjust work schedules to meet production requirements.
  • Oversee training status, requirements, and cross-training to ensure a flexible workforce.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent
  • Minimum three years related experience and/or related training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of supervisory experience required
  • Work experience in an FDA-regulated industry
  • Experience working with inventory management systems

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be flexible with work schedule
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to develop staff
  • Able to facilitate change
  • Proficient problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Lean techniques preferred
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, ERP Systems)

 

Environmental, Health and Safety Responsibilities:

This position will support Coloplast Manufacturing EHS Goals and Objectives:

  • Enforce all company Environment, Health, and Safety policies.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained.
  • Provide detailed instructions for job performance and explain hazards and safety precautions in assigning employees to a task.
  • Plan the work to be certain that employees, material and equipment are available to perform task safely.
  • Promptly report all incidents in area(s) of responsibility.
  • Conduct effective accident investigations immediately after they occur and implement effective corrective actions to ensure that the accident does not reoccur.
  • Ensure injured employees receive proper first aid and/or medical treatment.
  • Follow-up on all safety related deficiencies to ensure corrective action has been completed.
  • Actively support and promote Environment, Health, and Safety activities within the organization.
