Environmental, Health, & Safety Engineer 

Coloplast has an exciting opportunity for an EH&S Engineer to join our growing team!

 

You will be responsible for developing and administering EHS programs, policies, procedures, and training. You will partner with production, distribution, supporting functions, and commercial groups across North America. This position may be based either in the Minneapolis headquarters, or in the Mankato production facility, with travel on a weekly basis between the two facilities.

 

Major Areas of Accountability

  • Continually improve safety and environmental performance
  • Develop and deliver EHS training
  • Create and revise EHS documentation, including policies, procedures, and instructions
  • Build relationships with internal customers to resolve day-to-day EHS issues and achieve long-term, strategic EHS objectives
  • Own and execute EHS projects; lead teams to complete project objectives
  • Maintain EHS data and build routine reports
  • Ensure Incidents, Non-Conformities, and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) are appropriately investigated, managed and closed
  • Facilitate injury response and incident investigations.
  • Lead local EHS committees
  • Ensure safety requirements are fulfilled for new or modified equipment
  • Lead ergonomic and repetitive work assessments and improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years of professional Occupational Health and Safety experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Professional experience in direct support of a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Intermediate level experience using Microsoft Excel

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Subject matter experience in multimedia environmental compliance (air/water/waste)
  • Subject matter experience in industrial hygiene
  • Management systems experience: ISO 14001 or OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001
  • Progress toward a professional certification: ASP/CSP, CHMM, or related

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to effectively communicate across organizational levels
  • Ability to work independently with limited guidance
