Data Steward 

The Data Steward will be responsible to execute on Master Data setup and maintenance. The role requires a skilled data steward who will manage and execute the business data requirements, and partner closely with all business functions and the Corporate Global IT organization. This position is also the business expert responsible to lead and consult on project initiatives dependent on master data and data synchronization to our customers. Strong system understating, project management, collaboration, and relationship management skills will be needed for success.


Major Areas of Accountability

  • Creates, edits, and manages master data for our business partners (internal and external) within system master data applications.
  • Defines and implements policies and procedures for the day-to-day operational and administrative management of systems and data (i.e. creation/intake, storage, processing, and transmission of data to internal and external systems).
  • Assess the current state of data, establishes control processes for specific data domains or elements
  • Demonstrate strong understanding, and an ability to present to management, of master data flow between different systems (STEP, SalesForce, JD Edwards, Model N)
  • Manages and documents requirements for data flow, data security, master data procedures.
  • Identification of data and/or process opportunities via audits and metrics/trending, also responsible for evaluating, re-designing and implementing improvements.
  • Monitor and track ongoing data quality levels on a regular basis. Identify and provide optimal approaches for resolving data quality issues. Execute cleansing efforts for all Master Data.
  • Assists in development and maintenance of business requirements / classifications of data (i.e. Class of Trade, etc.)
  • Ability to collaborate, train, and mentor Coloplast teams on master data, as needed.
  • Partners with Global IT organization for master data and integration projects.
  • Work independently with occasional consult with management as appropriate to make recommendations and receive decision sign-off
  • Other Duties as assigned


Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of two years of work experience
  • Experience in Medical Device industry role preferred
  • Data management experience preferred

  • Demonstrates detail consciousness and ability to audit analytics and processes
  • Experience working with large data sets
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel including vlookups, pivot tables, etc.
  • Experience working with information systems including JD Edwards, Oracle on Demand, ModelN, SalesForce, and Cognos
