System Architect & Integrator

System Architect & Integrator for embedded systems project

Do you know how to translate user needs into technical system requirements? And would you like to be one of the key contributors and help us embark on a digital transformation of our products?
Join the R&D organisation
At our HQ in Humlebæk, you join our newly established Embedded Systems team within Innovation Unit. Here you will play an important role in our efforts to incorporate embedded systems into our products.

At Innovation Unit we are responsible for setting the direction for the product development across the organization and doing so we help make a difference in the lives of people with intimate health care needs. Joining our dynamic department, you can look forward to becoming part of a great work environment where you will work alongside knowledgeable programme and project managers.

“You’ll be part of something brand new, never seen before. We’re about to disrupt our industry – and we want you to be part of this journey,” says Director, Embedded Systems & Partnerships, Erkki Juntunen.

Define the product
As System Architect & Integrator, you will work on our Embedded Systems project, which is a new area of interest in Coloplast. Here you will be responsible for defining the product having users’ needs as a starting point and translating those to system architectural design.
You will describe functionalities; determine how they should be integrated and tested to confirm the correct implementation. Doing so, you will work closely with both Product Management as well as our development partners. In short you will:

  • Define, document and manage product requirements in collaboration with Product Management
  • Translate user requirements into a system architectural design based on optimal system partitioning between electronics, software and electro-mechanics
  • Set the technical direction for external development partners
  • Establish system integration plan for the fully performing product end-to-end
  • Monitor and control progress internally and with development partners

“Currently, we are 6 skilled and highly educated developers, architects and senior project managers. But we are still growing, so you can expect more colleagues soon,” Erkki continues.

You have experience with Embedded System integration
On a personal level, you are outgoing and proactive, and you take a highly structured approach to your tasks. Teamwork comes naturally, and you understand that collaboration is the key to success in our work.

Your solid interpersonal skills ensure that you interact easily at all levels of an organisation and towards partners. Likewise, you have got the ability to understand the user needs and translate them into technical specifications that can be easily grasped by our external partners.

  • You are specialised in Embedded Systems and have a B.Sc or a M.Sc in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • You have experience working with complex technical R&D projects in a specialist role
  • You have solid experience working as a System Integrator and/or Architect and have collaborated with external partners to a high degree
  • You have knowledge of product development models and Systems Engineering disciplines
  • You have worked with medical devices – if not, you have worked in a similarly regulated industry and have knowledge of QA and EHS systems and requirements
  • You have great communications skills and are fluent in English speech and writing

At Coloplast, we make sure that you can be you. That is why we encourage applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, ethnicity, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief or marital status.
