Coloplast R&D is expanding with several new positions as we continue our growth journey and our ambitions within modularity, sustainability, and technology development. This includes continuously challenge current way of working, expand our thinking, and explore new solutions to make life easier for people with intimate healthcare needs.

We are looking for skilled and dedicated materials specialists to join two teams within the Materials department. Will you help us develop great products that will benefit millions of people with intimate healthcare needs?

By joining our department, you will become part of an innovative environment where the time from idea to execution is extremely short and your quest for professional and personal development can take you far.

"If you are a chemical engineer, chemist, or a similar professional with a passion for learning, you'll join a team of specialists with extensive experience that will help you grow," says Jens Tornøe, Head of Films, Primary Packaging & Sustainability Tools.

Welcome to Materials!
At our HQ in Humlebæk, Denmark, you will join a department of more than 40 people, most of us polymer scientists. Materials is part of Coloplast R&D – Product Design & Engineering which employs more than 80 scientists, engineers, and designers. We develop effective solutions within ostomy care, continence care, wound care, and bowel management to help our end-users live the life they want to live.

“Our ultimate goal is to create innovative solutions and better products for our end-users. This means identifying and developing state-of-the-art polymer materials that deliver product performance second to none,” says Mariane Lund Dalsgaard, Head of Coating, Polymer Chemistry & Formulation.

Develop and define polymer solutions in cross-functional R&D projects
As a scientist in one of our teams, you will develop and define polymer solutions for new medical device products. You will do so by working as a materials subject matter expert in cross-functional R&D projects along with, e.g., project managers, laboratory technicians, product designers, system engineers and other scientists from the entire Coloplast organisation.

Your main responsibility will be project deliverables within polymer characterisation and documentation of material properties and performance. The data you generate will form the basis for central project decisions, ensuring that we deliver on user needs.

“You’ll be in a team where your colleagues will do their best to help you succeed. Collaboration and sharing of know-how are key to us, to continue expanding our competencies and deliver the best products available on the market,” says Jens.

  • Have some experience with applied materials science, polymer chemistry, organic chemistry or similar – and it is a plus if you have product development experience within these fields
  • Have a good understanding of statistical analysis and practices
  • May have product documentation experience, e.g. within medical devices or another regulated industry
  • Are fluent in English
