To enable this, we need to make sure our ways of working are up to date for the challenge. We have therefore established the function of Systems Engineering to facilitate all the needed discussions to ensure that we have understood stakeholder needs and requirements correctly and thereby are developing products accordingly. We are now looking for a visionary and technical director, who can set the course for our system engineering approach for the years to come.
Meet a diverse and impactful team
In our headquarters in Humlebæk, you will join the Systems Engineering & Embedded Solutions team of 18, who is currently working on various medical device projects. We take part in all projects across Coloplast within the systems engineering domain, and we are also responsible for the product development for any embedded devices in our product portfolio. While some of us are more focused on getting product requirements right, others are working with implementing these in our products together with our development partners.
Lead the team and show the way towards Systems Engineering
Your primary task will be to lead and develop the Systems Engineering team of currently 12 currently, ensuring employee motivation and engagement, organizational impact, and operational efficiency. Furthermore, you will play an essential role in the change initiative of rolling out the systems engineering discipline cross the whole organization. You will do this together with your team members and stakeholders from other functions across the organisation.

More concretely, it will be your responsibility to:
- Provide leadership to the team – inspire, motivate, and set the direction
- Ensure competency development on an individual and team level based on product pipeline needs
- Contribute to strategy development and creation of actionable plans for the team
- Drive creation and maintenance of QMS processes and instructions relevant to own area
- Ensure compliance through the design control process
- Plan and follow up on budget and headcount of the Systems Engineering team
- Follow up on the systems engineering discipline and industry best practices
Strong systems engineering experience, leadership and influencing skills
We are looking for someone who has solid experience in product development and systems engineering, with some success stories on timely and high-quality deliveries. You also have demonstrated a history of leading diverse and high-performing teams, preferably in the medical device domain or in a similar, regulated industry. You thrive for results and set ambitious but achievable goals for yourself and your team, while being supportive, enabling your team to reach your goals and develop.
Furthermore, we imagine you have:
- A relevant master’s degree within, e.g., Engineering, Natural Sciences, or related field
- Solid leadership experience – preferably with leading specialist organizations
- Solid experience leading a functional area, including experience developing and implementing strategies, influencing people on different levels, and setting direction
- Ability to navigate cross-functionally in a large organization
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
