Senior Process Engineer for Development of New Production Processes & Technologies
Espergærde, DK
Do you want to make a positive difference for people with personal healthcare needs by utilizing your process expertise across teams and projects?
Then, this might be your chance to join an innovative Coloplast team and use your knowledge as a Process Engineer to develop new production processes and process technologies that ensure world-class products.
As a Senior Process Engineer in our Pilot Plant, you will play a vital role in supporting Coloplast’s R&D teams in developing new adhesives and processes within both our Ostomy and Wound care areas. With responsibility for the functionality of our Pilot equipment and the mechanical aspects, you will work cross-functionally with colleagues who focus on chemical and material engineering to create stable and scalable solutions for future volume production.
You will contribute to developing and maturing production processes and process technologies that ensure high quality and efficiency through all phases of the company’s product and process development. Your mechanical and analytical skills will be combined with equipment and process optimization to create solutions that can be implemented in both Pilot Plant and full-scale production environments.
Primary Tasks:
- Process Development: Identifying material and process parameters on R&D Pilot equipment to establish solid production platforms for future adhesives. The work includes the application of various mixing technologies, including continuous mixing, batch mixing, dissolver mixing, and speed mixing.
- Process Optimization: Utilizing Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and improve process control using statistical tools such as SPC, focusing on key parameters like efficiency and quality. This includes developing effective cleaning procedures and optimizing existing mixing procedures.
- Equipment Optimization: Identifying, specifying, and recommending hardware upgrades/ improvements based on current and future needs. Since the mixing processes primarily occur in closed systems, a solid mechanical understanding is essential to assess the forces affecting equipment, raw materials, and intermediate/ finished goods.
- Documentation: Ensuring compliance through good documentation practice in a regulated industry. This includes understanding and evaluating documentation related to process development, parameters, and methods, as well as compliance with legal requirements related to CE-marked and/ or validated equipment.
