Director of Material Processing at our Pilot Plant
Do you want to play a key role in developing new technologies that improve the lives of people with intimate health care needs? Welcome to our Pilot Plant
As part of Global R&D, you will join our Pilot Plant in Espergærde. Here, you will manage the Material Processing team consisting of 5 specialists and 3 team managers, who manages both blue and white-collar employees. Serving as the link between R&D and large-scale production, your team is responsible for all material processing, primarily mixing, foaming and coating, technical maintenance of pilot production equipment and providing support to our volume sites.

Cultivate production efficiency, sustainability and innovation
As director, you will be overall responsible for developing, maturing and implementing manufacturing processes as required by the project pipeline and ensuring smooth handover to commissioning and volume sites. But this is not just a role where you will oversee daily operations. You will set out future objectives for your team, provide input to the overall strategy for the pilot plant, encourage creativity and nurture the innovative mindsets of all employees. 

 

You will especially spend your time:

•    Ensuring the continued development of robust processes
•    Transforming our production and related processes to be much more sustainable – e.g. by choosing sustainable materials and developing energy-efficient processes
•    Implementing Operational Excellence (Lean) processes and driving efficiency to optimise production output across the Pilot Plant 
•    Managing, motivating and coaching your team while adjusting your approach to senior specialists, team managers and operators respectively
•    Managing stakeholders across Global R&D and Coloplast to make sure that the Pilot Plant is an integrated part of R&D
•    Ensuring that employees, machines and processes comply with EHS standards and regulations as well as the Coloplast Quality Management System 

 

Highly developed leadership skills and a technical background
•    You have 5+ years of experience as a people manager
•    You have a technical bachelor’s or master’s degree, e.g. in engineering – alternatively, you have built up experience from a technical environment
•    You have a great commercial sense and know how to create business value
•    You communicate well across levels and environments – from the technical operational level to the top management level 
•    You know how to make an informed decision and stand your ground 
•    You communicate effortlessly in English in both speech and writing

 

It is a plus if you have manufacturing understanding/experience, perhaps even from the medical device industry, but this is not a requirement.
