Adhesive Specialists for R&D Pilot Plant - Principal Specialist and Senior Process Engineer

Espergærde, DK

Job Family:  Research & Development
Country/Region:  Denmark

Looking for a chance to work in an innovative Pilot Plant and do you want to help us provide products to people with intimate health care needs?

Maybe you are already in a principal or senior specialist position – or maybe you have the aspirations to step into one. Either way, you are ready to take on a role with responsibility, ensuring that our medical device production runs smoothly.

“Whether you are mainly interested in the machines for production or adhesives for stoma and skin care products – we have just the right challenge for you,” says Lone Munch Ringgaard, Director of Material Processing.

Welcome to our Pilot Plant
Based in Mørdrup, you will step into our Pilot Plant where 240 colleagues work on the early stages of development projects. You will be part of the Material Processing department and the Adhesive team, where we focus on maturing, testing and optimising the processes and building/re-building equipment before the projects go into full production.

We also produce adhesives and support with troubleshooting for our production sites in Hungary and Costa Rica.

“The work we do includes everything from pilot start-up to volume production,” says Peter René Jensen, Team Manager for Adhesive in Material Processing.

Take on a key role supporting daily production and development
The Material Processing department covers the area supporting skin care, continence care and wound care. You will mostly be working with adhesives for skin care, but depending on your skills, you will also get involved with our other areas.

Working with us, no two days will be alike. You will both find yourself solving tasks behind your desk, participate in project meetings with colleagues from the pilot plant and other areas in Coloplast, or in the production together with technicians, operators and other engineers. You will exchange good ideas and find solutions to the challenges that might occur during the day.

More specifically, you will:

  • Take the lead on supporting daily production and conduct improvement projects on production equipment and/or materials
  • Develop and mature pilot processes to ensure robust full-scale manufacturing
  • Test and implement process platforms within adhesives in collaboration with the Adhesive design team
  • Run tests and perform validations of production equipment and/or materials to ensure high quality
  • Continuously share knowledge with our manufacturing sites globally
  • Take part in process validation for production startup

“We have flat hierarchies, and our technicians, engineers and directors collaborate closely. You can always find a helping hand – I really like that,” Peter René Jensen continues.

Mechanical, chemical or material knowledge – but above all, a team player
In this role, it is absolutely essential that you enjoy teamwork. And of course, you master the art of communicating technically challenging information in a manner that can be understood by non-specialists.

Also, you are agile and able to prioritise – and re-prioritise, as the day and plans can change quickly. This also requires an analytical and strategic mindset and a readiness to work with the equipment yourself.

Moreover, we imagine that you:

  • Have a BSc or MSc within chemical or mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Bring 5+ years of proven experience working with medical devices or in a similar regulated industry
  • Bring solid experience within R&D/production
  • Have 5+ years of proven experience working in complex technical projects as a specialist
  • Know how to develop realistic action plans
  • Are organised and skilled at coordinating with other people and their tasks

If you would like to know more about the position, please call Director of Material Processing Lone Munch Ringgaard on +45 49 11 25 69 or Team Manager, Adhesive Peter Rene Jensen on +45 49 11 22 25.
