Job function summary

The Production Support Engineer must assure optimal and standard operation of the machines, continuously improving operating procedures to increase production while keeping quality standards under control. The role involves professional supervision of machines operation and mentoring of production operators, thus sharing and collecting improvement opportunities. He must organize technical training of the operators, support maintenance in solving big failures, solve technical problems with maintenance, suppliers and staff, improving technical processes and equipment. The position ensures compliance with safety, quality, output, and cost standards.

Major areas of accountability

•    Creating and improving the Standard Operations of the Machines, making life easier for the Operators.
•    Assure optimum times of product transition.
•    Working together with Supervisors, Shift Coordinators and Operators to collect improvement opportunities.
•    Act as the Subject Matter Expert for the production process under her/his responsibility
•    Support technicians in discovering failures, quick and professional troubleshooting.
•    Organization of technical training for other employees where required.
•    Exploring and solving technical problems together with maintenance, suppliers, technical staff, and operators.
•    Analyzing and improvement of technical processes, production machines and equipment.
•    Ensure to meet the required levels of Safety, Quality, Output and Cost.
•    Support in installation, assembly & commissioning of production equipment and lines, when required.
•    Support validation tasks related to machines and processes: Operations Instruction.
•    Support corrective and preventive actions related to Non-Conformities (NC´s) and CAPA
•    Generate and follow-up of OR for spare parts, tools and other equipment required to run the machines.
•    Generate work orders for parts to be produced in the Tool Shop in case of Tools required to change products, not for maintenance activities.
•    Create and/or review documents in the document control system (Veeva)
•    Attend meetings as required

Responsible for:


•    Performing their job in compliance with the guidelines given
•    Drawing attention to the management of any difficulties in understanding or following the guidelines
•    Drawing attention to inefficiency of the system
•    Take responsibility for those safety aspects identified for the given position
•    Support the positive EHS culture

Essential qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s Degree in related Engineering field (e.g. Mechanical, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Chemical, Materials). 
•    3-5 years of experience in process engineering roles with responsibility in manufacturing processes.
•    Ability to support high volume manufacturing operations.   
•    Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, ERP Systems)
•    Minimum English Level B2

Prefer qualifications

•    Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies such Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
•    Desirable experience working in FDA regulated environment.
•    Working knowledge of design software such AutoDesk (AutoCad 2D, Inventor 3D, Vault database).
•    Experience in medical industry.
•    English level B2+
