PLC/Electrician Specialist Technician

We are looking for a PLC Specialist is responsible to bring support in different Value Streams areas, Improvements, and performs all types of changes in PLCs and integrations with other systems in all types of PLCs.

It will work closely with the Improvements Engineer and other Specialists to identify the machine improvement opportunities in areas as quality, cost, performance, and preventive and predictive maintenance.

 

You will be a part of a growing Operations Development team, as Coloplast is in the process of establishing a world-class manufacturing site in Cartago, Costa Rica. The ideal candidate is a reliable and competent professional, preferable with experience in manufacturing and medical device industry. Initially, you will be supporting the Cartago site, and have a close collaboration with Hungary and Denmark.

 

You will report to Head of Operations Development Coloplast Costa Rica Volume Manufacturing Site, Cartago. 


Tasks & responsibilities

 

  • Able to read electrical diagrams using the PC Schematics software and able to make complex changes and upgrades.
  • Able to modify PLC programs in Omron, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, Trio or Factory Talk or Ifix
  • Able to detect machine hazards, electrical problems, repair and/or replace electrical, electronic and mechanical components.
  • Identify and solve all control related issues.
  • Keep track of all changes to the PLC programs, versions, dates and impacts
  • Drive troubleshooting sessions when needed
  • Reads and understands electronic and electrical schematics; draws sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electrical units.
  • Assemble experimental circuits of complete prototype models according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and knowledge of electronic systems and components and their functions.
  • Deals with vendors and suppliers, assign tasks, and stablish deliverables
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Work with third parties/vendors for the flawless solutions
  • Maintain documentation about performed changes in machines
  • Able to interpret all pneumatical diagrams bases on Festo, SMC, PIAB and vacuum systems.
  • Performs the upgrade of obsolete parts in a pneumatic and vacuum system
  • Identify basic vision system issues and performs the change of simple parameters
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Performing their job in compliance with the guidelines given
  • Drawing attention to the manager to any difficulties in understanding or following the guidelines
  • Drawing attention to inefficiency of the system

 

 

Qualifications:

 

 

  • Have relevant Technical education within mechanical and/or electrical area.
  • Have 2-3 years of work experience in related positions
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Have strong Teamwork abilities and communication skills
  • Be able to read and interpret technical drawings (electrical, mechanical)
  • Be able to share knowledge onto other team members
  • Shown Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Able to work other shifts and overtime to complete work as needed.
  • Willing to be on call to support production needs.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral in English Level: B1 – Intermediate level (base on the scale of the Common European Framework)
  • Strong PLC programming knowledge on at least of the following technologies RS Logix 5000, Studio 5000, CX Programmer, Simatic Step 7, Sigma Drives, Kinetix, Accurax, Indramat, Elau, Trio.
  • Able to install and uninstall electrical components.
  • Knowledge in AutoCad, EPDM, Inventor Vault
  • Knowledge of Medical Industry machinery and production processes.
  • Knowledge on machine transfers oversea.
  • Knowledge on interpretation of pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams
  • Experience on industrial automated machine maintenance
  • Experience on regulated industries
