Coordinador (a) de Taller de Precisión

Job function summary

The Toolmaker in charge oversees the toolshop, creating documentation and training for technicians, managing work orders, and maintaining inventory. They ensure compliance with safety regulations, provide personal protective equipment, and support the mechanical designer with drawings and CNC programming. Additionally, they manage the budget and control payroll, overtime, vacations, and disabilities.

Major areas of accountability

• Verify the process of the different work orders, time control and close the orders.
• Delegate work orders to precision technicians.
• Verify that the workshop measurement equipment is in good condition and with its updated calibrations.
• Manufacturing of individual parts with a 5 axis CNC milling machine, conventional lathe, conventional milling and grinding machines according to the production plan.
• Support the CNC programming on Mastercam if necessary.
• Support manufacture of parts in conventional equipment if necessary.
• Create drawings for new or old spare parts that do not exist in EPDM or vault if necessary.
• Verify new processes and materials that are required in the workshop.
• Repair and renovation of tools and parts affecting the operation of production machines.
• Identify the technical root cause of recurring machine and/or tool failures and develop proposals to solve them.
• Ensuring the operation of workshop machinery, detecting failures and provide troubleshooting.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance of machine tools and machinery
• Monitoring the stock of cooling/lubricating fluids, cutting tools and raw material ensuring its availability at all time.
• Verify the correct disposal of hazardous waste and recycling materials
• Perform the schedule maintenance of the toolroom machinery.
• Responsible for the correct use of personal protective equipment other company regulations.

• Drawing attention to the manager to any difficulties in understanding or following the guidelines
• Drawing attention to inefficiency of the system
• Take responsibility for those safety aspects identified for the given position
• Support the positive EHS culture

Essential qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in secondary education
• Degree in precision mechanics from a recognized institution (Technical College or INA)
• Professional experience in tool making and / or material processing of at least 3 years.
• Computer user knowledge (MS Office, AutoCad, Edgecam, Inventor, Solidworks)
• Working independently and responsibly
• Good problem-solving skills
• CNC programming knowledge
• Experience on a surface grinding machine
• B1 English level 

Prefer qualifications

• Knowledge in GD&T
• Experience as an operator of a 5 axis CNC milling machine.
• Knowledge of Solidworks and Mastercam.
• Knowledge basic English Spoken and writing
• B1+ english level 
• Experience in the medical industry

Required knowledge, skills & abilities

• Proven experience as an operator of a 3 axis CNC Milling machine, preferred on a 5 axis CNC milling machine.
• Proven experience as an operator of a conventional Milling machine.
• Proven experience as an operator of a conventional Lathe machine.
• Proven experience as an operator of a griding machine.
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
• Proven knowledge of Mastercam and Inventor.
• Proven knowledge on Fanuc systems
