Senior Instructional Designer

The Senior Instructional Designer serves as the strategic and creative leader for instructional design within the Medical Strategy and Knowledge Advancement (MSKA) team. This role drives the development of innovative, high-quality educational content, oversees instructional design standards and processes, mentors team members, and ensures that training materials effectively support both internal stakeholders and the field sales organization.
The Senior Instructional Designer collaborates closely with subject matter experts, supports in-person and virtual training initiatives, and contributes to the optimization and management of the Learning Management System (LMS). This position plays a key role in shaping learning strategy, enhancing knowledge advancement, and ensuring instructional excellence across all training products.
The Senior Instructional Designer is located on-site in a Kerecis office. This full-time role reports to the Senior Director, Global Knowledge Advancement.
Major Areas of Accountability
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the design and development of high-quality, scalable educational materials that support organizational learning goals
- Establish instructional design standards, frameworks, and best practices for the team
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and creative direction to instructional designers and content creators
- Partner with leadership to define learning priorities, project roadmaps, and resource planning
Instructional Design & Content Development
- Oversee the creation of engaging and effective training content using instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and multimedia best practices
- Review and approve instructional materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, and instructional effectiveness
- Guide team members in content creation, storytelling, curriculum design, and visual communication
- Ensure all materials meet quality, compliance, and brand standards
Collaboration & Training Support
- Work closely with subject matter experts to translate complex medical and scientific concepts into accessible learning experiences
- Support and occasionally facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions
- Gather, analyze, and interpret feedback and assessment data to inform continuous improvement
Project & Systems Oversight
- Provide clear communication on project scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource needs for assigned training initiatives
- Contribute to the management, organization, and optimization of the Learning Management System
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration to align educational content with organizational goals

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- 5+ years of experience in instructional design, education, educational technology, multimedia development, medical or scientific content creation, or related fields
- Demonstrated experience leading design initiatives or mentoring content development teams
- Proficiency with course-authoring tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality content
- Experience in graphic design and multimedia production
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and digital training platforms
