The Instructional Design Intern collaborates with instructional designers and subject matter experts to develop engaging, effective learning materials. The intern supports the design and production of educational content, helping to enhance the learning experience for diverse audiences.

 

The Instructional Design Intern is based in a Kerecis office and reports to the Senior Director, Global Knowledge Advancement.

Major Areas of Accountability

  • Design and Develop Learning Materials: Work closely with instructional designers to create visually engaging and pedagogically sound materials, including slides, handouts, e-learning modules, and interactive resources
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs): Partner with SMEs to understand content requirements, gather information, and ensure the accuracy of instructional materials
  • Conduct Content Reviews: Ensure learning materials meet quality standards, are visually consistent, and align with the overall instructional design framework
  • Assist in Digital Asset Management: Organize, label, and maintain digital files and resources in a content management system for easy accessibility and consistency
  • Support Multimedia Creation: Help in creating or editing multimedia elements, such as graphics, audio, or video, to enhance the learning experience
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all materials meet company standards and any relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., accessibility standards)

Basic Qualifications

  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to follow design guidelines and brand standards
  • Strong eye for layout, color, and typography
  • Ability to work effectively with instructional designers, SMEs, and other team members to produce high-quality educational content
  • Capable of quickly learning new design tools and methods and adapting to evolving project requirements
  • Clear, effective communication skills to understand and translate instructional goals into visual formats
  • Ability to take initiative on tasks, troubleshoot design challenges, and provide creative solutions with minimal supervision
