Manufacturing Engineering Technician

Job Function Summary

This position is responsible for performing various engineering support tasks specific to the manufacturing of medical devices. This role will work directly with an engineering team whose goals are to continuously improve and scale production operations.

 

Major Areas of Accountability

  • Execute various equipment and process qualification activities to improve existing production processes
  • Write various protocols, reports, and work instructions
  • Make recommendations for various process and equipment changes/improvements
  • Design and implement various fixtures to be used on the production floor
  • Provide project support for area lead and engineers
  • Identify issues that need further investigation and disposition
  • Follow all relevant safety regulations and promote a positive safety culture
  • Conform with Coloplast Code of Conduct and all local Compliance Standards
  • Conform with Coloplast Q/EHS Policy
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent with relevant experience required, AA or two-year technical degree in relevant discipline preferred.
  • 3+ years of medical device experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable in SOLIDWORKS (preferred)
  • Capable of reading and interpreting specifications/prints
  • Must work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Able to follow procedures and adhere to safety practices
  • Troubleshooting knowledge and skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work

 

Physical or Other Requirements of the Job

  • Frequent standing or walking
  • Ability to support manufacturing in the early morning or evenings (as needed). Typical manufacturing hours are 6:00AM – 2:30PM.
  • Must wear clean room attire and personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for each area, such: hairnet, beard guard, smock, safety glasses, shoe covers, gloves (latex or nitrile), steel toed shoes
