Would you like to manage a department with branches into several areas of our innovative and market-leading medical device company?

Working with an experienced team of managers, you will get a first-hand experience of our high ambitions within the clinical and medical field in our mission to make life easier for people with intimate health care conditions.

“Medical Affairs plays a critical and important part in our innovation projects. With an increased focus on clinical evidence, your new department is a focus area in our organisation and of outmost importance to the Coloplast strategy,” explains Christian Bo Petersen, Senior Vice President, Payers & Evidence, Innovation.

Head up an organisation of 70 colleagues
Innovation in Coloplast comprises most of our commercial HQ functions including Payers & Evidence and subsequently your new organisation, Medical Affairs. Your approximately 70 new colleagues make up 4 departments, Clinical Operations, Clinical Strategies, Scientific Affairs and Evidence & Adoption, each with a director referring to you.

During the development of new medical devices within chronic care and wound care, Medical Affairs is engaged in a variety of tasks, from early development projects to the global product launch.

Specifically, we are responsible for some of the key processes and documents ensuring that we launch compliant, well-documented, safe and superior new medical devices. Also, we support other vital areas in Coloplast, like Marketing, Sales, R&D, Pipeline & Portfolio and Regulatory Affairs.

Set the direction for Medical Affairs
In short, your new role will focus on generating and communicating evidence as well as driving the clinical agenda and treatment practice in close collaboration with key opinion leaders. Thus, you will spend a good amount of time developing and maintaining your organisation, setting the direction going forward.

We typically carry out +20 clinical studies at a time, and you will stay up to date on these, ensuring progress and handling any unforeseen issues. Also, you will ensure close collaboration with internal stakeholders as well as with our external health care professionals. In detail, you will:

  • Ensure launch and pipeline fulfilment of innovation projects in accordance with the launch plans and road maps for Chronic Care within your area of responsibility
  • Be responsible for clinical development and documentation of legacy products
  • Be responsible for designing and executing clinical studies or other types of activities that generate relevant clinical evidence
  • Be responsible for scientific writing, publication of clinical documentation as well as medical and scientific advice
  • Develop, manage, and execute approved annual business plans for Payers & Evidence overall and for your own area

Several years of experience from the medical device or pharma industry
”As a manager, you can collaborate with specialists and balance between being flexible around our studies’ premises while also ensuring progress. And you have to be great at working with people across cultures and departments,” says Christian Bo, who also imagines that you:

  • Hold a science or medical degree combined with several years of experience from the global medical device and/or pharmaceutical industry
  • Have experience with all aspects of clinical development and documentation and within regulatory affairs
  • Have considerable leadership experience – preferably leading leaders
  • Are fluent in English
