About Us:

 

Coloplast Wound Care is expanding its activities in the Community market offering excellence in Tissue Viability Services to support GPs and Practice Nurses in building and developing their knowledge, confidence and competence in guidance, care and support of patients with wounds. The role of the Coloplast TVN Nurse Specialists is dedicated to delivering excellence in Clinical Care, Consultancy, education, and audit. This role is a community-based role in Primary Care linked to Primary Care Networks and GP Federations. The desire is for patients to be able to be as closely involved with their own care as possible and therefore there is a strong need for the individual in this role to communicate across levels of knowledge and understanding. This role will report into a Clinical Nurse Manager but will also have a dotted line report, from a governance perspective, into the Primary Care area he/she is working in.

 

This role supports the North Warwickshire area, and anyone applying must live in a reasonable travel distance to the area.

 

 

The essential duties of the role:

 

  • Establishing a wound care service
  • Strategically working with key stakeholders to plan the way the service will be delivered best aligned to local needs.
  • Demonstrate leadership capabilities to influence, educate and train local clinicians on the highest levels of wound care practice.
  • Delivery of clinical, evidence based wound care to patients
  • Acting as a consultant/advisor to Practice Nurses and GPs on issues of Tissue Viability
  • Delivery of education and training programmes to Practice Nurses
  • Performing audit to gather data on existing practice and then reauditing after changes in practice
  • Teaching patients/carers and providing support to patients/carers to ensure self-care by patients and/or their carers is safe and effective
  • Delivering publications, written & poster & oral presentations at conferences
  • Supporting Coloplast Marketing in projects: assessing new products, educational materials, pathways of care
  • Keeping up to date with changes in the market and developments in clinical care

 

To be successful in this role you will have the following education and skills:

 

  • Degree level Registered General Nurse
  • Post graduate qualification in Tissue Viability
  • Experience at a senior nursing level of leading and driving a service of change and ability to evidence the outcomes of that change
  • Knowledge and competence in leg ulcer management
  • Demonstrable competence in leading teaching programmes and in presentation skills
  • Deep NHS understanding

 

The successful candidate will be able to display empathy and have an excellent ability to develop trust.  To do this you will have excellent communication skills, including listening, interpersonal and influencing skills.
