PACKAGING SPECIALIST
We are looking for a Packaging Specialist to join our team, where quality, collaboration, and attention to detail play a key role in supporting products throughout their lifecycle.
About the Department
You will join a team of 11 colleagues covering three main functions: Packaging Specialists, Stability Specialists, and Labelling Specialists.
The department is responsible for creating and maintaining design documentation for existing products, as well as verifying product functionality during raw material changes. We work closely across disciplines to ensure robust, compliant, and well-documented product solutions.
Your Role
As a Packaging Specialist, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining transportation studies and supporting SVS and IVS studies from a packaging perspective. You will play an important role in ensuring that packaging solutions protect product quality and performance throughout distribution.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain documentation for packaging materials used for boxes, including specifications
- Create and maintain documentation for transportation validation of new products and for modifications of existing products
- React to and resolve transportation-related issues
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of packaging materials and transportation requirements
- Optimize transportation documentation by ensuring the use of correct standards and package configurations
- Collaborate with product and labelling responsible colleagues to ensure optimal transportation documentation
- Ensure timely documentation of packaging-related deliverables in projects
- Define quality requirements for packaging materials towards suppliers
- Ensure proper actions regarding scrap related to packaging
- Support global production sites and CM suppliers with packaging-related issues
- Manage testing of packaging materials for transportation studies and material testing
- Drive collaboration with packaging material vendors to develop innovative packaging solutions
Your Qualifications and Skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Relevant academic background (BSc or MSc in Engineering or similar)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in developing packaging materials
- Strong analytical reasoning, structured problem-solving skills, and a methodological approach; statistical knowledge is an advantage
- Willingness to travel (approximately 20 travel days per year)
- Team player with a collaborative mindset
- Experience working in an international, cross-functional, and cross-cultural environment
