Report to : Head of Marketing
Position summary
The Market Access manager is responsible for expanding reimbursement opportunities and shaping the insurance environment to enhance patient accessibility to the company’s medical device portfolio. This role integrates strategic and operational Market Access responsibilities with evidence-driven value development.
The position requires strong cross-functional leadership, the ability to translate strategy into actionable execution, and an entrepreneurial mindset to navigate policy uncertainty and drive business impact.
Key responsibilities
- Market Access strategy & reimbursement expansion
- Develop and execute comprehensive Market Access strategies for both current and future products.
- Lead initiatives to expand reimbursement, improve coverage, and address access barriers within the national insurance and regulatory environment.
- Conduct policy, reimbursement, and competitive landscape analysis to identify strategic opportunities and risks.
- Build strong value propositions grounded in scientific, clinical, and economic evidence.
- Support launch readiness by ensuring MA pathways (pricing, reimbursement, policy positioning) are integrated into commercial planning.
- Evidence Strategy & Value Development
- Identify the evidence needs required to support MA strategy: clinical benefit, unmet needs, RWE, burden-of-disease insights, practice patterns, patient outcomes.
- Prepare evidence-based dossiers, policy proposals, payer materials, and reimbursement submissions.
- Ensure that evidence is converted into clear, compelling value messages tailored for HIRA, MOHW, academic societies, and clinical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Medical Marketing Specialist to gather clinical insights and source relevant literature to strengthen value positioning.
- Stakeholder Mapping & Engagement (Policy & Clinical Influence)
- Map and prioritize key internal and external stakeholders:
- HIRA / MOHW / NHIS / etc.
- Medical societies & KOLs
- Patient organizations
- Health policy influencers and research institutes
- Develop and execute engagement strategies that support reimbursement expansion and guideline/policy shaping.
- Lead value-based conversations with stakeholders using evidence-driven narratives and unmet-need framing.
- Build partnerships to advocate for improved patient access and standard-of-care advancement.
- Map and prioritize key internal and external stakeholders:
- Entrepreneurial Execution & Risk Management
- Apply strong business acumen and entrepreneurial ownership to deliver measurable access outcomes.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to evidence gaps, policy uncertainty, stakeholder alignment, commercial readiness, and project timelines.
- Develop scenario plans and alternative strategies to navigate complex reimbursement environments.
- Monitor MA KPIs and ensure compliance in all value communication and stakeholder activities.
- Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead MA alignment and coordination across Marketing, Medical, Sales, BS (Business support), and Regional/Global MA teams.
- Translate policy and evidence insights into actionable initiatives across the commercial organization.
- Facilitate cross-functional decision-making to accelerate access projects and resolve barriers.
- Support organizational education on MA pathways, payer needs, and evidence-driven value communication
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Life Sciences, Public Health, Pharmacy, Nursing, Health Economics, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in Market Access, Reimbursement, Health Policy, or related roles within medical devices or pharmaceuticals
- Strong experience in reimbursement expansion projects and developing value propositions
- Proven ability to lead evidence-driven MA strategy and cross-functional execution
- Experience engaging with policymakers, societies, KOLs, and patient organizations
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-influence skills
- Strong analytical ability to interpret clinical/economic evidence
- Entrepreneurship / Agility / Result oriented
- Native Korean and advanced English proficiency, essential for communicating complex policy/clinical matters in writing and presentations.
