The IC Market Manager is responsible for the business area growth strategy across South Africa and Sub-Sahara Africa. This includes devising our overall IC strategy as well as working with our commercial leaders in setting clear, regional priorities and translating those into our Annual Business Plan. Together with our regions, the IC Market Manager develops an active, value-based portfolio strategy, a go to market plan and implements key marketing & sales activities in close, cross-functional collaboration with the Sales and Consumer Teams.

 

Overall, the IC Market Manager is the commercial lead to ensure we have clinically relevant and commercially compelling local value propositions in place that drive our growth strategy – relevant to all stakeholders: patients, clinicians and payers.

 

The successful candidate will be part of the South African Marketing Team and report to the Head of Marketing.

 

Key responsibilities

  1. Develop IC growth strategy for South Africa: Across a diverse market, develop the mid and long-term plan to drive growth in IC, whilst driving day to day deliverables. Ensure strong alignment with key HQ functions, and with the Sales Team on opportunities, challenges and, importantly, issue identification and resolution.
  2. Develop and deliver a strong local value proposition: Use insights and better understanding of market dynamics to formulate strong commercial and tactical plans supported by a relevant and clearly articulated value proposition. Develop effective product and service communication to drive brand preference.
  3. Operational and strategic portfolio management: Locally, ensure that our market has a strong and relevant portfolio that truly reflects the market dynamics and that enables the delivery of our value proposition at product level. Drive market access through effective management of pricing and building relationships with key stakeholders in the market.
  4. Stakeholder management and networking: Effectively collaborate to develop partnerships and alliances with key user associations and professional bodies ensuring a platform for driving change in the bladder management arena. Set up and manage advisory boards and user forums to support strategic direction.

 

 Professional qualifications

We are looking for an experienced, commercially minded marketer with a proven track record of implementing local projects with high impact.

  • Minimum 3 years of marketing
  • Relevant experience in medical device industry would be preferable
  • Strong business acumen and commercial understanding
  • Strong project management skills across functions
  • Strong analytical skills and good command of excel
  • Excellent numerical skills with an analytical approach to Marketing and the ability to construct fact-based recommendations and business cases
  • Strong ability to internalize the diversity and complexity of the South African market and to identify opportunities based on this
  • Ability and willingness to travel 25%
