The Coloplast Business Centre (CPBC) in San José, Costa Rica, is part of the global Coloplast Business Centre organization. CPBC in Szczecin, Poland, is one of the largest sites within the Coloplast Group, experiencing sustainable growth over the years. Our organization includes several departments that support the Coloplast Group globally in areas such as sales, IT, production, distribution, HR, marketing, and finance. In total, the Coloplast Business Centre employs about 800 people, with the Costa Rica site specifically designed to support our North American business.
The Job
You will be part of a newly established organization dedicated to supporting the North American business within the Coloplast group. Our mission is to unlock further potential and drive continuous improvements and simplicity across all areas of leadership. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the team in a growing environment.
Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR Specialist to lead the development of the People & Culture (P&C) function in this new entity. Your responsibilities will span the entire employee lifecycle, from hiring to development, and will include building key HR processes such as recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and employee development. You will collaborate closely with the Site Lead to foster and shape the company culture. In this role, you will ensure the smooth operation of the HR department and contribute to the overall success of the organization by leading all aspects of human resources practices and processes.
The primary focus areas in the role are to:
• Execute day-to-day HR operations within the SSC, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration, benefits management, and employee data management
• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the business objectives
• Act as a point of contact for employees and managers, answering HR-related questions and resolving issues related to policies, benefits, and procedures
• Coordinate the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and managing the offer process
• Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and ensure effective talent acquisition
• Act as an advisor and support employees and managers with employee relations issues, providing guidance on conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions
• Foster a positive work environment and culture by ensuring effective communication and handling employee concerns in a timely and confidential manner
• Support employee development initiatives by identifying training needs and facilitating or coordinating training programs that enhance employee skills and performance
• Ensure compliance with local labour laws, regulations, and organizational HR policies
• Monitor and analyse HR metrics, such as turnover rates, absenteeism, and employee engagement levels, and provide reports to management
• Utilize data to make recommendations for continuous improvement in HR processes and employee satisfaction
• Ensure good communication and alignment with internal business partners to successfully implement the agreed plans
Qualifications/ Competences
• 5+ years’ experience in Human Resources
• Experience in Shared Services or equivalent
• Strategic mind-set with proven execution records
• Master`s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• Experience in being part of a newly established organization will be a plus
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and management skills as well as change management capabilities
• Very good level of English writing and communication skills (it’s a Company business language)
• Ability to challenge leaders at all levels and to work in an international environment
• Able to travel to USA if needed (needs to meet requirements related to US travels)
