Warehouse Maintenance
As we prepare to introduce exciting new automation into our UK Distribution Centre this summer, we’re looking for a practical, hands‑on Warehouse Maintenance to join our team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys fixing things, solving problems and keeping equipment running smoothly. This role will play a vital part in keeping our warehouse operations efficient, supported and ready for the future. If you’re the kind of person who enjoys getting stuck in, figuring out how things work and making sure everything runs as it should, this could be the perfect next step for you.
The Role
As a Warehouse Maintenance, you will work across both our current warehouse technology and the new automation that is due to go live later this year. A key part of the position involves looking after everyday equipment such as printers, scanners, laser printers and IT hardware, making sure everything is working correctly and stepping in to fix issues when they arise. Where problems require specialist support, you will log these with the engineers and ensure they are quickly resolved.
You will also play an important role in maintaining the new automated systems once it has launched. This includes practical tasks such as cleaning robots, checking components, replacing belts and keeping the system running efficiently. You do not need prior experience with automation or robotics — just a willingness to learn, a hands‑on mindset and a genuine interest in how equipment works.
Around 30% of the role will involve working as a superuser, helping to support colleagues with system queries, updating training materials and ensuring local processes remain aligned with global distribution standards. You will work closely with Global IT as the first point of contact for technical support within the warehouse.
This is a fully on‑site role and may require some flexibility with working hours between 6am and 8pm, with core hours typically between 9am and 5pm. As automation beds in, there may be occasional weekend call‑outs to support the operation.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who is naturally hands‑on, enjoys repairing and maintaining equipment and feels confident stepping in to resolve day‑to‑day technical issues. You may have experience working with machinery, automated warehousing or manufacturing environments, or you may simply be someone who has learned how to fix things through practical experience.
You should feel comfortable using warehouse systems and ideally have experience with ERP or WMS platforms. The role would suit someone who is curious, motivated to learn and able to pick up new technologies quickly, especially once our automation is fully live. Strong troubleshooting skills, a proactive approach and the ability to remain calm when things go wrong are essential.
Just as importantly, we’re looking for someone who is supportive, solution‑focused and able to work well with colleagues across different teams. You will need to feel confident training others, explaining processes clearly and working collaboratively to keep operations running smoothly.
