Production Specialist 2nd shift + $5,000 new hire incentive

Job Function Summary:

Assist as needed in assigned areas associated with the manufacturing of Coloplast Skin products (two or more areas shown below).  Complete necessary documentation and inspections per cGMP requirements to fulfill customer expectations. Provide training to others in the functional areas supported by the role.

 

As the schedule requires, this role is expected to flex and support multiple functional areas such as compounding and cleaning of all mixing equipment; set-up and troubleshoot packaging lines; operate skin care production/packaging equipment, and complete necessary documentation and inspections; and assist with warehousing responsibilities.

 

Major Areas of Accountability:

Compounding

  • Ensure that all manufacturing equipment are cleaned and sanitized as needed.  Complete cleaning and sanitization as needed to complete scheduled jobs.
  • Accurately weigh and compound product according to work instructions.                               
  • Capable of setting up, operating and adjusting for all of the equipment in the Compounding Area.           
  • Understand, follow, and accurately complete process documentation.                                    
  • Use of JDE E1 inventory system to accurately issue raw materials and receive the compounded product.
  • Complete different quality inspections necessary for production and assure that all documentation is correctly filled out.
  • Gather, stage and organize raw materials needed for the daily production runs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on the equipment as required                                                           
  • Apply continuous improvement approach to compounding function.       
  • Train others in the specific process and perform related duties as requested.

Sanitizing

  • Clean all equipment used in the process of Manufacturing and Packaging productions according to the guidelines prescribed in the GMP’s.
  • Complete cleaning and sanitization documentation as required by Coloplast procedures.
  • Assist in manufacturing all Coloplast products within the guidelines prescribed in the GMP’s.
  • General good housekeeping practices of packaging and compounding areas, making sure area is cleaned up after a production run, tools put in proper place, etc., help set up for next run.
  • Find fill-in work during any delay to assure continuation of operations to meet departmental goals.
  • Adhere to fire, safety and security measures already established.
  • Operate and package in all cells as needed.             
  • Apply continuous improvement approach to sanitizing function.                                              
  • Train others in the specific process and perform related duties as requested.

Packaging

  • Package all containers in the proper labeled cartons as instructed by the work order, while maintaining a high degree of integrity in Coloplast packaging.
  • Check cap torques and weights as specified by the work orders.
  • Label each filled pallet of finished product to facilitate organized storage of finished goods inventory.
  • Assist in operation of filling equipment – such as inserting sprayers, etc.
  • Understand, follow, and complete work orders to correctly package the product.
  • Operate packaging machines
  • Perform various quality inspections necessary for production.
  • General good housekeeping practices of packaging area.
  • Apply continuous improvement approach to Packaging area.
  • Train others in the specific process and perform related duties as requested.

 

Set Up

  • Set-up and maintain all packaging machines in the Skin Care Division for optimum production efficiency.
  • Understand, follow, and accurately complete process documentation.
  • Efficiently troubleshoot production related issues to minimize down-time.
  • Complete different quality inspections necessary for production and assure that all documentation is correctly filled out.
  • Report all mechanical failures or anticipated problems to Engineering.
  • Make recommendations to local leadership concerning equipment needs and ideas for improvement.
  • Assist in the maintenance of Packaging Area machines, tooling, equipment and related items.
  • Operate and package in all cells as needed.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in all working and storage areas.
  • Apply continuous improvement approach to the setup function.
  • Train others in the specific process and perform related duties as requested.

 

Warehouse

  • Provide warehouse support to move and transport incoming, internal and outbound products.
  • Operate a forklift, pallet jack, dock plate and associated equipment.
  • Execute inventory transactions.
  • Perform related duties as requested.

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read and comprehend Coloplast policies and procedures; ability to write and complete documentation and records.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Compliance to cGMPs and ISO standards.
  • Excellent organizational and team skills
  • Two or more years of related experience.
  • Experience in two or more of the operational roles described in this job description.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in all the operational roles described in this job description.

 

 

Environmental, Health and Safety Responsibilities:

This position will support Coloplast Manufacturing EHS Goals and Objectives:

  • Comply with company standards for environment, health, and safety.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with instructions from EHS and Supervisor/Lead.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions or job hazards to your Supervisor.
  • Always wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Always follow warning signs and labels, e.g., “HOT”,”DANGER”, etc.
  • Report accidents, injuries, illnesses, near misses and property damage to your Supervisor.
