Maintenance - 2nd Shift ($2.00/hr shift premium)

Are you looking for a new opportunity? Coloplast welcomes you to join the Operations team on 2nd Shift (Hours 3:20pm-11:50pm) as Production Maintenance Technician in North Mankato, MN. This position will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment/machines. May assist facilities maintenance in building equipment repairs and activities. Perform duties ranging from those which are routine, to those that are highly complex and/or specialized and require more sophisticated analysis and problem solving.  Provide production support as needed in setting up and troubleshooting production lines and being a coach to the Machine Technician team members as to the proper equipment setup and best practices to maximize machine uptime and performance. As a full time Coloplast employee, you’re eligible for our standard benefit package.

This position will have an impact on Manufacturing meeting production schedules, and therefore, “customer service” through preventative maintenance equipment programs/efforts. This is a key position/function for maintenance and manufacturing equipment installations and operation resolutions.

 

Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Ensure that all assigned production equipment is maintained at peak operating effectiveness with minimum downtime, within established budget/costs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance repairs on production equipment as required.
  • Maintain supply of spare parts for planned and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Participant and actively engage in continuous improvement activities
  • Document maintenance activities in a CMMS environment.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and instruments in maintenance area.
  • Involvement in troubleshooting and root cause activities in the areas of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and mechanical systems and components.
  • Coordinate contractor work, equipment replacement, and other manufacturing projects.
  • Assist engineering department as required in support of equipment automation and design changes.
  • Assist engineering and facilities in evaluating and implementing equipment and manufacturing design changes.
  • Assist with PLC/automation and systematic trouble-shooting of pumps, motors, controllers and various other automation equipment
  • Perform duties as backup up facility technician, when necessary (Basic wastewater system operation, waste water sampling, daily checks of boilers, quick water and purified water system)
  • Provide setup and troubleshooting of production equipment and coaching of the technical production staff.

 

•  Essential Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • AA or 2-year technical degree in relevant discipline preferred.
  • 1-3 years of production maintenance experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Safety practices in following policies and working with tools
  • Trouble shooting knowledge and skills
  • Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical machinery.
  • Experience in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems.
  • Competent negotiating skills
  • Competent lead skills (planning, organizing, delegating)

  • Must be able to reach above shoulder level
  • Must be able to operate power / hand tools
  • Must be able to operate general shop equipment (lathe, mills, presses, welding equipment, plasma equipment, etc.)
