Vice President - Interventional Urology - North America 

Coloplast has an exciting opportunity for a Vice President to join our growing team!

 

The Vice President – Interventional Urology – North America is a member of the Global Leadership Team (GLT) and with the other members, provides executive leadership in the development, execution and achievement of Coloplast Interventional Urology strategic, financial and program goals.  This position is accountable for setting strategic and commercial direction for Interventional Urology business in North America to deliver on revenue growth and profitability goals.  Achievement is created through people and business leadership, customer oriented, and administrative duties and responsibilities.  The Vice President will establish commercial excellence through defining and executing sales strategy and structure that aligns with growth and profitability goals. They will foster productive relationships with people at all levels within, and outside the organization and provide regular communication to the sales force and our customers.   

 

Major Areas of Accountability:

Commercial Leadership

  • Plan, develop, and implement ambitious strategic objectives that drive growth of revenue and profitability
  • Influence global business results through active collaboration with other Global Leadership Team members
  • Drive commercial excellence activities in North America by identifying and leveraging opportunities to drive market share and continued revenue growth
  • Accountable for North America Interventional Urology Revenue and Profit
  • Collaborate with Marketing team in the integration of product categories
  • Ensure our compliance culture and practices exist throughout entire sales organization in all decisions and interactions.

 

People Leadership

  • Provide visible leadership to the sales team by working with all levels of the sales organization
  • Foster BEST culture resulting in a culture of compliance, integrity and leadership
  • Hire, develop and insure the National Sales Directors competency relating to recruiting, hiring, training, directing, and managing results toward the annual budgeted goals
  • Build and foster leadership excellence with the Regional Sales Directors (RSD) – individually and as a group
  • Plan and develop the organization structure that aligns sales headcount with the growth projections
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure competitive field compensation plan  
  • Effectively communicate with the field employees to deliver positive results
  • Hold field sales employees accountable for compliance with the territory quota, sales agenda, policies and procedures and selling activities

 

Customer Leadership

  • Develop key customer relationships through regular interaction, scheduled calls, industry events, and personal communication
  • Manage key commercial opportunities, contracts, negotiations, pricing to gain profitable sales in adherence with the sales strategy
  • Manage customer generated complaints and feedback as needed to insure Coloplast satisfaction and confidence

 

Administrative

  • Analyze sales reports for trends, problems, opportunities, and provide direction or correction to insure effective sales activities
  • Manage sales support employees administration and compliance of the commission, compensation and incentive bonus plans
  • Oversee and approve field expense budgets and expense reports
  • Oversee the management of all GPO and IDN contracts and agreements
  • Produce monthly reports for the President of Interventional Urology or as directed
  • Conform with and model Coloplast Code of Conduct and all local Compliance Standards
  • Conform with Coloplast Q/EHS Policy
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree is preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years multi-disciplinary medical device sales experience
  • Minimum of 5 years successful medical device sales management experience, leading senior level management, professionals and highly skilled employees
  • Proactive style and a strategic business sense that will allow him/her to develop creditability across the organization
  • Experience working in a large global medical device organization, working within multi-cultural settings and cross-functional global teams
  • Preferably senior management experience with international exposure
  • Ability to travel, including international, up to 50%

  • Medical Device background is required
  • Ability to nurture relationships with internal and external customers by consultative methods
  • Ability to consistently work, manage and lead with ethical integrity
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to positively coach sales teams

  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to listen, articulate and advocate
