Sourcing Manager

The Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing category and sourcing strategies. You will establish and enhance supplier relationships to meet or exceed product quality, service & cost improvement objectives.  There will be a strong focus on ensuring supply continuity and reducing risk in the supply chain.  This role will need to work cross-functionally with Supplier Quality, Supply Chain and other stakeholders to align on optimal sourcing strategies.  We are looking for someone who can work independently and formulate strategies to achieve their goals and objectives, thinks like an entrepreneur to deliver value and is a relationship builder.


This position is a member of the Global Operations Supply Chain Team. The Sourcing Manager is responsible for cost effective purchasing of materials, finished products and indirect services required, with regards to corporate, project and generally accepted public or ethical policies and legal requirements This position is expected to develop and execute procurement strategy for defined category cluster and establish strong relationships with key suppliers.


Major Areas of Accountability

  • Establishing category strategies that result in a sustainable competitive advantage.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts that deliver the best value and outcome
  • Develop and implement strategies for cost optimization, supplier consolidation, standardization, service delivery / quality improvements and process efficiency
  • Gather and analyze market intelligence and reporting on trends, risks, etc.
  • Facilitate the development of Statements of Work and contractual language that memorializes understandings and agreements with external partners. Develop, review, negotiate and execute complex business agreements and contracts
  • Drive safety and compliance to regulations, procedures and standards
  • Own, manage, and lead business relationships with key suppliers where appropriate
  • Manage and lead the supplier selection process for suppliers and align the supplier selection with the commodity strategy
  • Track performance measurements on suppliers and evaluate supplier performance
  • Maintain ERP supplier and product related data
  • Support Supplier Quality Management team in correction of quality issues
  • Provide input to next level managers on Coloplast risk exposure within defined category cluster
  • Conform with Coloplast Code of Conduct and all local Compliance Standards
  • Conform with Coloplast Q/EHS Policy
  • Other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years proven strategic procurement work experience and a track record for driving improvement projects, manufacturing environment or supply chain related role
  • Solid written and verbal communications skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or other related field of study
  • Committed to working in a quality environment; seeks to understand and desires to create novel solutions to existing business challenges
  • Project management strengths in team facilitation, requirements definition, stakeholder management, and communicating, executing and driving projects to completion



Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing or working with resins, plastics or other poly-based materials
  • Indirect experience with service providers, transportation providers, etc. would be a plus
  • Negotiation training or certification
  • Project management training or certifications
  • Knowledge of GMP environments. Experience working in regulated environments
