Coloplast has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Sourcing Manager to join our growing team!

 

Corporate Procurement is a corporate level staff function based in Denmark with employees throughout the world (China, Hungary, France, and USA). It is commercially responsible for spend and relationships with external suppliers including contractual obligations. It supports the company’s profitable growth by leading the interactions with external partners, partnering with internal business areas to manage risks proactively, maximize value creation and ensure reliable supply. We pursue a strategic holistic approach to managing categories, and value professional skills such as strategic sourcing, disciplined negotiation, supplier management, risk management, project management, team facilitation, and managing the total cost of ownership. We prioritize the ability to work cross functionally and consider the ability to engage and manage supplier relationships a critical competency.

 

Job Function Summary:

The US Procurement team is part of our Corporate Procurement organization and you will work with colleagues across geographies from your base in Minneapolis. We offer a challenging role and the opportunity to influence your job and team with your experiences and ideas in order to make a difference for Coloplast’s ultimate consumers. Your professional and personal development will be supported through internal and external training and development opportunities, as well as close cross functional collaboration with peers in procurement and throughout the Coloplast organization. You will occasionally participate in international projects and should expect to travel 10-15 days per year.  This position reports directly into the Director of Corporate Procurement, Americas.

 

Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Develop, support and drive to implementation procurement and supply improvement programs, with a focus on the total cost of ownership
  • Identify, develop, and drive cost reduction strategies within the supply base by commodity, category and/or product line. Conduct the necessary spend analysis and market surveys, and work towards lowering the cost of components through process improvements, strategic sourcing and elimination of waste
  • Develop category and supply risk management strategies in a disciplined well thought process
  • Collaborate with value streams and category managers to leverage the supply base by aligning sourcing strategies and promoting early supplier involvement to deliver sustainable and cost-effective solutions
  • Support new product introduction activities; lead cross functional teams in sourcing activities
  • Facilitate the development of Statements of Work and contractual language that memorializes understandings and agreements with external partners. Develop, review, negotiate complex business agreements
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement; drive safety and environmental compliance with all regulations and with company policies, procedures and standards
  • Own, manage, and lead business relationships with key suppliers; Govern and support communications, root cause corrective action and ultimate resolution of supply chain constraints
  • Manage supply continuity risk by evaluating supply replenishment structures and VMI programs, provide strategic input based on experience, and provide suggested inputs to supply chain’s programs as needed to ensure supply continuity in challenging markets

 

  • Perform supply market financial analysis in support of periodic raw material cost forecasting
  • Drive and role model Coloplast values and ethical standards
  • Other Duties as assigned

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a supply management or technical / quantitative discipline. 
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience while working with different functional disciplines at various levels of an organization
  • Previous experience in direct materials, supporting a manufacturing environment
  • Broad category management experience. Experiences in tubes and bottles, closures, in addition to carton packaging and chemicals is highly desired
  • Strong project management skills, including team facilitation, requirements definition, stakeholder management, and communicating, executing and driving projects to completion
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies, total cost of ownership, and procurement processes
  • Solid contracting and negotiation skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An MBA or other postgraduate degree
  • Previous indirect procurement experiences
  • Six Sigma and/or prior experience managing projects across cross-functional teams
  • CPM / CPSM / APICS national certification
  • Knowledge of GMP environments. Experience working in regulated environments
