Marketing Events Manager

Job Function Summary

The Marketing Events Manager serves as the project lead for all conventions. This role works cross-functionally to establish key objectives for each meeting and flawlessly executes the related tactics. The position will work with cross-functional teams on the selection of strategic partnership opportunities as well as lead the planning and execution of event marketing tactics for IUNA local, regional, and national conventions. This person will be responsible for establishing and implementing efficient event processes.


Major Areas of Accountability

  • In partnership with Marketing help select strategic partnership opportunities and key engagement activities
  • Project manage tactical execution of all facets of U.S. Corporate convention planning; to include but not limited to managing timelines for messaging, logistics, graphics, onsite schedules, travel, and accommodations.
  • Tracks expenditure and budget reporting for US conventions.
  • Manages vendors for the planning and implementation of IU conventions
  • Manages relationship and leads communications with society partners
  • Participates in society board meetings throughout the year
  • Manages the logistics for pre- or post-event ancillary meetings or events for congresses, including dinners, symposiums, and formal outings.
  • Manages on-site exhibit setup and teardown, as well as exhibit staffing.
  • In partnership with Marketing aids in selecting and identifying promotional opportunities or partnerships for each society meeting and events throughout the year.
  • Manages the overall communication with attendees and participants. Implements and conducts exhibit staff training when necessary.
  • Identifies and selects conventions or event opportunities for company participation.
  • Works with Marketing Communications and Marketing leaders to execute on promotional tactics for events.
  • Manages, maintains, and recommends continuous improvements for all booth properties and convention assets
  • Creates and maintain calendar for conventions
  • Maintains and manages cvent software system for event registration and meeting booking processes
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory supplies for tradeshows, coordinating shipping, and receiving and maintaining organization of tradeshow storage areas.
  • Works with Sr. Global Brand Manager to ensure all booth, communications and messaging complies with the Coloplast Corporate Visual Identity (CVI)
  • Serves as the industry advisor on matters pertaining to societies and associations policies and procedures
  • Evaluates competitive and industry trends and proposes new strategic initiatives and streamlines event management, registration and other key processes.
  • Tracks leads, ROI and other metrics, providing analysis and reporting on events and trade shows, identifying opportunities for improvement and development.
  • Conforms with Coloplast Code of Conduct and all local Compliance Standards
  • Conforms with Coloplast Q/EHS Policy
  • Assists with internal meetings and events as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of experience managing all aspects of events and conventions
  • Expertise in corporate meeting planning and trade show exhibit booth management
  • Experience working in a regulated environment, i.e., healthcare, medical device, or pharmaceutical preferred
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to work cross-functionally required
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

  • Proven ability to lead, manage and/ or support multiple interdisciplinary/ cross-functional/ international projects (including projects with outside vendors or agencies), gain consensus/approval where needed, prioritize & drive strategic objectives effectively

  • Demonstrates excellent oral & written communication skills with the ability to listen, articulate, facilitate & advocate

  • Effective organizational skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of PowerPoint and AdobePro
  • Experience with Cvent preferred
