Maintenance Technician - Weekend Shift

This position is responsible for performing various equipment maintenance and repair activities on a wide spectrum of machines. This is a key position for maintenance and manufacturing equipment installations and operation resolutions.  It has impact on the ability of manufacturing to meet its production schedules. 


Major Areas of Accountability

  • Ensure that all assigned production equipment is maintained at peak operating effectiveness with minimum downtime (within established budgets/costs)
  • Co-ordinate maintenance with area lead according to production build plans
  • Make recommendations and participate in process and equipment changes/improvements
  • Provide project support for area lead and engineers
  • Coordinate tooling and equipment repair with supplier(s), as needed
  • Train other personnel on trouble shooting and minor machine repairs
  • Maintain supply of spare parts for corrective maintenance activities
  • Communicate/perform effective handoffs with off-going and on-coming maintenance techs and teams
  • Identify quality issues that need further investigation and disposition
  • Follow all relevant safety regulations and promote a positive safety culture
  • Conform with Coloplast Code of Conduct and all local Compliance Standards
  • Conform with Coloplast Q/EHS Policy
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ability to work Friday through Sunday.


Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required, AA or two-year technical degree in relevant discipline preferred.
  • 3+ of maintenance experience with an AA or two-year technical degree or 5+ years of maintenance experience without an AA or two-year technical degree

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work with a variety of machinery and equipment
  • Capable of reading and interpreting specifications/prints
  • Must work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Able to follow procedures and adhere to safety practices
  • Troubleshooting knowledge and skills
  • Experience with pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical machinery
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Working knowledge of QSR and ISO regulations
  • Basic computer skills


Physical or Other Requirements of the Job

  • Close range vision (within 12 inches), correctable to near 20/40
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to push/pull 100 pounds intermittently
  • May be required to work with: 70/30 isopropyl alcohol, 99% anhydrous isopropyl alcohol, cyclohexanol, silicone, methyl ethyl ketone, 1653 water-based ink, formula 31, 1600 cleaner, Decon-Quat 100, DAC-300 rust preventative, WD-40, various oils and greases, temperature conditions and work around moving machinery
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend and pick up machine parts from the floor, to reach above head and place or take machine parts from shelf
  • Frequent standing or walking
  • Must wear clean room attire and personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for each area, such: hairnet, beard guard, smock, safety glasses, shoe covers, gloves (latex or nitrile), steel toed shoes
  • Operates pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified)
