Coloplast has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Physician Education to join our growing team!


The Coloplast Interventional Urology Director of Physician Education is responsible for setting the overall strategy for physician education and ensuring best in class execution and implementation of physician training programs. 


This training expert will chart pathways and create training platforms that engage physicians and HCPs at various stages in their educational journey. These programs will need to be designed to increase the competence and confidence of our physician partners for the on-label use of Coloplast Interventional Urology products.  The IU Physician Education Director has responsibility for strategically identifying, developing, and implementing tools, resources, and programs which align the efforts of key stakeholders in the Interventional Urology organization.  This person will create a collaborative and cohesive work environment between education, sales, and marketing to create successful and highly effective Physician Education pathways. 


This role is responsible for leading the education and training team for training operations for all courses. 


Major Areas of Accountability

  • Work closely with internal/external stakeholders, create high-quality, program-specific materials, based on verifiable educational outcomes, drive its development according to set timelines and determine the appropriate educational strategy/channel/medium for delivery
  • Lead team of physician education partners across all three divisions to develop and motivate the team
  • Drive innovation in learning delivery based on adult education principles and best practices from educational research
  • Partner with HCP contracts manager to ensure compliance of all HCP interactions and agreements. Set the highest standard for compliance practices and drive compliance accountability through all stakeholders in the delivery of physician education.
  • Determine appropriate physician pathways for each step of development for different attendee groups, utilizing different channels and platforms
  • Determine and implement the appropriate mix of in-person vs virtual/digital training and education programs, based on best in class technologies and practices
  • Define appropriate metrics for physician education program success, with a priority focus on patient outcomes
  • Assess external changes in the marketplace to successfully identify clinical practice gaps and opportunities for improvement to be met by new Professional Education programs, put forward appropriate recommendations that will help drive customer excellence
  • Establishes course pre-requisite requirements, assessment tools and post training follow-up
  • Establishes a follow-up method that reinforces learning and engages attendees
  • Lead the content creation process for presentations developed in partnership with course faculty—making sure the content is relevant, up to date and in compliance with product labeling
  • Lead the cost analysis, budget preparation, and fiscal operation of the physician education programs and related events
  • Conform with Coloplast Code of Conduct and all local Compliance Standards
  • Conform with Coloplast Q/EHS Policy
  • Other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or relevant area is required
  • Master's Degree preferred, in a business, medical or science-related specialty
  • 15 + years of work experience in a related position such as, medical education/communications, or professional work with an academic institution/hospital/university, medical society or other role in the medical device industry
  • Expert knowledge of continuing professional development, adult education principles, and instructional design
  • Well versed in established professional medical content creation and familiarity with CME/ CE/ CPD standards
  • Self-motivated
  • Urology/Urogynecology experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are essential
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint proficiency required
  • Willingness and ability to travel (30-50%)
