Senior Accounting Manager

The Senior Accounting Manager is self-motivated, detailed orientated and possesses a high level of organizational and time management skills.  This role oversees controllership of the North America legal entity, which includes, but is not limited to overseeing controls, accounts receivable and payable, federal and state tax return coordination, sales tax processes and returns, expense policy and reporting, banking, and managing the North America balance sheet. The Accounting team leads the month end close, external/internal audits, process improvement and reporting and ensures sound internal controls are in place along with auditable documentation. This individual will demonstrate integrity and confidentiality when producing, delivering, and distributing information. 


Major Areas of Accountability

  • Oversees the accounting functions for US, Canada, and direct business. Accounting functions include A/R, A/P, tax, controls, and reporting.
  • Leads a team of individual contributors while working closely with Denmark and the Coloplast Business Center accounting and finance teams.  
  • Oversee both internal and external audits for the US, Canada, and dealer business.
  • Participate in M&A work, overseeing the accounting integration as needed.
  • Work closely with HR on benefits, payroll, and stock option entries.
  • Own key vendor relationships including but not limited to banking partners, expense management partners, insurance broker partner, and tax partners.
  • Own subsidiary wide accruals, for payroll, additional compensation, insurance and benefits expenses.
  • Partner with the commercial support organization and key account sales team on key account receivable reconciliation.
  • Trains, mentors, develops, and manages accounting and support staff.  Ensures staff is highly functioning and the team is motivated. Provides feedback, conducts performance reviews and takes corrective action when needed.
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance demonstrating progressive experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience with a verifiable track record of effective leadership including mentoring, training, and developing direct reports.
  • Strong technical experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable and other general ledger functions.
  • Ability and desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders at once.
  • Confidence and the ability to establish new processes while leading a team through change.
  • Excellent organization, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Capable of taking on and solving complex problems.
