Facility Technician

Facility Technician 

Do you have experience in the facility area, building maintenance, cleaning, and more? Then you are the one we are searching to join our team at Coloplast Cartago.  


We are looking for a Facility Technician to join our team.  Facilities Technician will be responsible for making sure that Coloplast CAR buildings and their services meet the needs of the people that work at Coloplast.  The facilities technician is accountable for services such as building maintenance, cleaning, and parking, to make sure the surrounding environment is in a suitable condition to work. Also, attend any building, utilities, and facilities systems maintenance needed to maintain the working environment.


You will report to Facilities and EHS Manager, Coloplast Costa Rica Volume Manufacturing site, Cartago.


Key areas of responsibility:



  • Ensuring that all electromechanical systems under the responsibility of the Facilities and EHS department (FEHS) can run continuously to ensure business continuity
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance for the FEHS electromechanical systems, these systems include but not limited to fire suppression system, compressed air, chilled water, purified water, HVAC, hot water, vacuum, heat, and air extraction, waste disposal, kitchen, and Atex systems.
  • Prevention and repair of emerging building problems
  • Inspecting buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations
  • Fulfillment of work orders


Management support

  • Provide support to the FEHS supervisor on the cleaning, waste disposal, catering, security and parking of Coloplast Car’s buildings.
  • Supervising contractors including cleaning and maintenance.
  • Attend visitors or suppliers that need access to the site to provide services.
  • Quote services or goods necessary for the good maintenance/operation of the facility.
  • Check the quality of work delivered by contractors
  • Perform any task assigned by the facilities supervisor or FEHS manager related to the activities of the company
  •  Achieving indicators defined by management



  • Review and fulfill any regulatory or EHS documentation needed for the daily work.
  • Supervise safe execution of activities performed by contractors and ensure proper work permits are completed, approved, executed, closed and archived.
  • Ensure to comply with and be responsible for enforcing work safety, and Coloplast values at all times.


Your qualifications:


  • Technical degree in mechanical, electromechanical, or related qualification.  Refrigeration systems knowledge is a plus
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in roles that include building and/or industrial maintenance
  • Oriented to customer service and proactive (highly desired)
  • Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints
  • English level: A1
  • Refrigeration systems knowledge is a plus

You have attention to detail, as well as demonstrate problem-solving -, analytical -, and critical thinking skills. It is a benefit if you have proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and negotiation abilities, experience in a start-up process, and a high degree of flexibility.
