Vice President for Test & Characterization within R&D

Do you want to work with innovation as a driver for growth? And are you keen on leading leaders in a division that has immense impact on our final products – ultimately making life easier for people with intimate health care needs?

“This is a pretty unique chance to join Coloplast at a time of change, where you get to contribute to shaping the future of testing – surrounded by the best in the industry, setting the stage for both personal and professional development,” says Senior Vice President R&D, Anders Nørby.

Join R&D Innovation – a gathering of specialists
Based in our HQ in Humlebæk, you will be joining our Research & Development team, where a recent reorganisation has made room for new adventures. One of the new areas is our Test & Characterization division, where 94 extremely committed and highly skilled laboratory technicians, chemists, biologists and engineers (among others) work with the testing aspect in the whole journey of product development, from idea to finished product.

Furthermore, you will join our senior management team, where you will contribute to setting the agenda across R&D and then execute on it – significantly influencing the overall performance in R&D.

Spearhead our testing unit, and use innovation as a driver for growth
As our new VP, you will get a central role in translating the new innovation road map into growth, potential and aspirations in your unit. Overall, your responsibilities are to ensure that your unit has the right and best skills, resources, and knowledge to fulfil their potential – through operational leadership, empathetic management and change communication.

Test & Characterization includes 3 areas and teams that cover various stages of the testing, being:

  • Defining and validating of test methods, where we investigate and conclude how to test our products
  • Laboratory testing, where we examine how our products perform and generate feedback to our product designs
  • Pre-clinical testing – an intersection of several scientific areas, namely biology, chemistry, mechanics and microbiology, as well as actual human behavioural testing

Further, you will get a close working relationship with Product Development, Production, and Marketing, underlining that the work done here has a cross-organisational impact.

“This is a role where you get to make a significant impact, work with the full range of our products and hereby getting to know Coloplast very well, very fast – giving you optimal foundation for further development along the way,” says Anders Nørby.

Empathetic management style and scientific background
Your most critical trait is your ability to lead – with your compassionate and open style of leadership, your team knows that they can always come to you. With a very wide range of professional identities in your unit, along with the wide internal network, change and stakeholder management combined with amazing people skills are key elements in this position.

Furthermore, we imagine that you:

  • Most likely have a scientific education, so that you have a natural understanding of the processes and needs in the different units
  • Have solid experience as a director or senior director
  • Have either experience with or motivation for working with developing management skills and hereby developing other leaders
  • Speak and write fluent and professional English
