Supplier Quality Manager

Humlebæk, DK

Job Family:  Quality Assurance
Country/Region:  Denmark

Supplier Quality Manager

You have a strong quality mindset with a keen eye for detail, and we need you to ensure that our suppliers always deliver in accordance with the high standards that our users expect from us. Think you have what it takes? Then keep reading.

We provide an absolutely vital service
From our headquarters in Humlebæk, you will join Supplier Quality Management (SQM). We are a dedicated team of 12 people, with 3 colleagues working from our production sites in Hungary and 9 from those located in Denmark. Our task is to ensure that our suppliers are of the highest quality – that is an extremely important role within the organisation:

“The quality of materials will be important no matter what type of products you are working with, but it is absolutely vital with regard to medical devices. What we do in SQM is crucial to Coloplast, because the quality of materials from suppliers directly impacts our end-product and has very real implications in people’s daily lives.” - Anders Christian Hasemann, Head of SQM

Quality-conscious and a natural networker
As supplier quality manager, you mediate between Coloplast and our suppliers. You will act as a one-point-of-contact for our suppliers on all matters of quality. You will also be interfacing with various departments within Coloplast, working closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, Global R&D, and others, acting as the natural diplomatic link between the external supplier and your colleagues within Coloplast. In your day-to-day, you can expect to:

  • Negotiate quality contracts with suppliers and ensure compliance with these
  • Closely support international production sites in supplier non-conformance handling and root cause analysis
  • Participate in projects concerning innovation and cost-reduction and also drive improvement projects within Quality
  • Occasionally travel to overseas sites to assess quality or implement improvement processes, usually around 20-30 days a year

Working with suppliers is a lengthy process, and we will usually be in business with them for years. As such, it is important that we choose the right partners from the start. You are the authority on assessing supplier quality, and so you must have both short-term needs and long-term business interests in mind.

Flexibility and trust are cornerstones in Coloplast
We believe that you know best how to get the job done. Of course, tasks have to be done and deadlines have to be kept, but if you can handle the freedom responsibly, you will have a high degree of influence on how you structure your day.

“Maybe you had a Teams-meeting with a partner in China last night – then you can sleep in the next day. We are a pretty flexible team and are always looking to help each other however we can.” - Anders

What we are looking for
Needless to say, stakeholder management is a key part of your role. Acting as the link between internal and external actors, you must be naturally outgoing and a strong communicator. Ensuring quality compliance is of particular importance in Coloplast, so you must be comfortable taking responsibility for this task.

Whether you come with the right educational background or relevant working experience is not essential. However, preferably you fit within some of the following:

  • You have a few years of experience from a similar position, preferably within an international setting
  • You have experience working with suppliers either from a quality assurance role or in something like procurement, preferably within the fields of medical technology, software, and/or electronics
  • You have solid experience working with contract manufacturers
  • You have quality assessment experience, preferably within the medical device or pharmaceutical industries
  • You have a relevant education, BSc/MSc in engineering/pharmacy or equivalent

At Coloplast we make sure that you can be you. That is why we encourage applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, gender, race, ethnicity, disability, age, sexual orientation, religion, belief, or marital status.

If you would like to know more about the position, please reach out to Head of Supplier Quality Management Anders Christian Hasemann at +45 4911 1724. We will take candidates into the recruitment process continuously, so do not hesitate to apply. This position will remain open until a suitable candidate has been found.

We are also currently looking for a Senior Supplier Quality Manager, which you could consider, if you consider yourself overly qualified for this role.
