Skin expert to development of new products

Location:

Humlebæk, DK

Job Family:  Research & Development
Country/Region:  Denmark

Are you an expert on skin and would you like to use this knowledge to make a difference to people with intimate health care needs? Join us to investigate how our medical devices interact with our end-users during use and give design input and evaluate new solutions for our ostomy and wound care business.

Colleagues with dedication

At our HQ in Humlebæk, you will be joining our R&D organisation as part of the Pre-clinical team. Here you will join a development team where you will work alongside 24 fellow biological, mechanical, chemical and polymer scientists creating knowledge and develop test methods that can bring us as close to our users as possible.

Together, we are part of technology- and product development projects with our knowledge about the biomedical interface as well as our models and test method solutions across the different business areas within wound-, continence-, bowel- and ostomy care. We work close together with material, simulation and mechanical engineers, as well as our clinical departments, to create the best products for our users.

“There’re a unique atmosphere and commitment within the team. Data driven decisions is top of mind – always. And with different areas of expertise, we complement each other really well,” explains Lene Feldskov, Director for Pre-clinical, Test & Characterisation within R&D.

Become our Expert in Skin Science

As a member of the Pre-clinical team, you will serve as a specialist in skin-related matters. Your responsibilities will include providing design input for new products, developing and optimizing test methods, evaluating technologies, and investigating the interaction between our devices (such as ostomy bags) and users. In this capacity, you will actively support and participate in various projects, continually assessing and challenging existing solutions, revisiting previous initiatives, and following up on outstanding issues.

Therefore, you can look forward to spending a great deal of your time in the lab, participating hands-on in testing, and collaborating closely with our lab technicians. Moreover, you will work with adhesive and mechanical design engineers, clinicians, and the users of our products, and of course your colleagues within the team.

Knowledge about skin and eagerness to explore further

We do not expect you to know everything there is to know about the tasks at hand, nor for you to have hands-on experience with skin – though this would of course be an advantage. The important thing is your willingness to explore the existing models, love to be part of exploring new possibilities, and pursue an understanding of why some things work while others do not.

In order to excel at this, we imagine that you:

• Have a technical background as a biochemist or engineer

• Have experience with medical devices, preferably in relation to work with skin

• Speak and write English fluently
