About the department
When joining Coloplast you will enter a global company that offers great challenges, opportunities and rewards. The new Coloplast products are designed by Device Design. Device Design consists of a versitile group of ambitious people working in three teams: Industrial Design, Mechanical Design and Analysis. 
You will join the department of Analysis, where you will team up with the Simulation team to provide development projects with guidance and recommendations.

 

The job
You will work closely together with your colleages in the Smulation team and the Mechanical Design engineers. In some cases the Mechanical Design engineers will provide you with designs to assess  and optimize, but in other cases we build the model proactively to understand the behavour of our products better. We use a practical approach to solve the engineering challenges we are presented with. Sometimes that means using simple linear models to optimize and make decisions on design direction, sometimes it means modelling the complex non-linear behaviour of biological tissue or the fracture propagation in the product. We analyze test results to improve our predictions and methods. Commucating your findings in a simple and actionable way is key to succeeding in the job. 

 

Your key responsibilities are:
•    Provide both simple and advanced FE analysis  to various development projects.
•    Present fact based design recommendations to the development projects based on your analysis. 
•    Contribute to development of internal processes in the Simulation team.

 

Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the job possesses the following qualifications:
•    5+ years of industry experience with non-linear FE analysis in one of the major commercial softwares.
•    M.Sc./Ph.D with speciality in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or alike.
•    Extensive experience with non linear FE analysis of polymers (e.g. large deflections, non linear materials and contacts).
•    Experience with mass production of injection moulded parts.

 

You most likely have a background within the mechanical industry, consultancy, food, medico, automotive, wind or  pharma. We produce products in the millions and early attention to details has a great business impact. We value honesty and open feedback and are looking for an ambitious team player. If you are good at what you do and able to communicate your findings clearly, this position will suit you.
