Are you an experienced Product Sustainability Assessment professional? Then this is an exciting opportunity to strengthen Coloplast's product sustainability evidence and help translate environmental impact into better product decisions across the organisation.
About the job
You will be responsible for conducting and continuously improving life cycle assessments and product environmental impact assessments, ensuring robust methodologies, transparent assumptions and decision-relevant outputs. Based in the HQ in Denmark you will work across R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Product and Project Management, Procurement and other functions, you will provide credible evidence to support product development, portfolio decisions, priority Impact4 roadmap initiatives and externally relevant assessments.
You will maintain and contribute to Coloplast’s LCA methodologies, assessment tools, environmental datasets and emission factors. Also support the quality assurance of product-related Scope 3 emission accounting, product KPI progress and other product sustainability metrics. The position offers an opportunity to provide technical expertise and play a key role in advancing Coloplast’s 2030 product sustainability ambitions.
The Sustainability Team
You will join Coloplast’s Global Sustainability team, which sits in Global Quality, Regulatory Affairs and Sustainability under Global Operations. The team leads the development and implementation of the company’s sustainability strategy, including Environment, Health and Safety, and supports the business in delivering on its Impact4 strategic commitments.

With direct report to the Head of Sustainability Product Impact, you will work alongside dedicated sustainability professionals and collaborate extensively across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
• Apply specialist knowledge in life cycle assessment, product environmental impact assessment, methodologies, datasets, emission factors and product sustainability evidence.
• Conduct LCAs and product impact assessments across climate and other relevant impact categories, ensuring robust methodologies, transparent assumptions and decision-relevant outputs.
• Maintain and continuously improve LCA methodologies, assessment tools, datasets, emission factors and technical guidance to ensure consistency, credibility and scalability.
• Provide environmental impact evidence, methodological guidance and practical tools to support product development, portfolio decisions and sustainability integration across business processes.
• Support the development and harmonisation of product impact assessment guidance for medical devices, translating evolving scientific, payer, customer and market expectations into practical recommendations.
• Maintain and contribute to the calculation methodology and quality assurance of environmental impact data used for product-related Scope 3 accounting, product KPI progress and other relevant sustainability metrics.
• Define data requirements, quality standards and validation approaches for product-related supplier environmental data.
• Develop, validate and translate product impact evidence into clear recommendations for Product and Project Management, Marketing, Market Access, Operations and other business functions.
What you bring
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree or equivalent in engineering, environmental science, chemistry, sustainability, materials science or another relevant technical field.
• At least three years of relevant experience in life cycle assessment, environmental footprinting, product environmental impact assessment, sustainability analytics or a closely related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with leading LCA platforms such as SimaPro, Sphera, OpenLCA, etc. and associated databases.
• Strong knowledge of relevant standards and methodologies, including ISO 14040/44, ISO 14067, PEF and related environmental assessment frameworks.
• Strong analytical capabilities and experience working with complex datasets, emission factors, modelling assumptions and decision-support tools.
• Ability to translate complex environmental assessments into clear, actionable recommendations for product development, portfolio decisions and business stakeholders.
• Experience from MedTech, healthcare, pharmaceuticals or another regulated industry is an advantage.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and developing sustainability evidence for customers, payers, healthcare professionals, public tenders or regulatory submissions is an advantage.
• Professional proficiency in English.
