Head of Test Engineering

Location:

Humlebæk, DK

Job Family:  Research & Development
Country/Region:  Denmark

Would you like to work with innovation as a driver for growth? And do you want to head up our test engineering team where we work with the testing aspects of product development – and thereby help bring new devices to market?

Join our mission to make a difference for people with intimate health care needs by leading specialists in defining, developing and documenting testing, verification and validation and that will help us ensure medical device performance and compliance.

“In this role, you’ll get the chance to work on a strategic level in setting the direction for the future of medical device product development at Coloplast, while also working closely with your team on the day-to-day tasks,” explains Majk Kruszewski, Director of Test Engineering.

A growing and dynamic team of specialists
At our HQ in Humlebæk, Denmark, a growing team of 10 specialists are eagerly awaiting to collaborate with you as you set the direction going forward. We are an integral part of the Test & Characterisation department within the R&D organization. The team’s key responsibility is to help deliver on the Innovation project pipeline, leading the way as test competence owners in all kinds of projects and initiatives.

“You’ll also be part of our Test & Characterisation Extended management team, where we set the strategy and develop the entire department. All the test capabilities are gathered in one functional area, allowing for focused and professionalized efforts and great, established collaboration with stakeholders across Coloplast, ensuring a climate of technical creativity,” says our Vice President of Test & Characterisation, Lisbet Rankløve.

Continuing to develop the area, the team and delivering to the pipeline

In your role, you will work closely with the Director of Test Engineering, to drive an ambitious roadmap forward. This will require that you are comfortable with organizational strategy, challenging the status quo and are not hesitant to speak up if value can be added in the arena.  Change and stakeholder management skills will be your bread and butter as we continue the journey of ensuring strong communication and impact across the organization. I expect that you, like myself, will be an ambassador for our department, and for leadership in general at Coloplast.

Furthermore, you will be an important sounding board for your team of specialists regarding their broad roles in our organization and the development projects. The Test Engineers cover testing activities end to end in projects, from early concept testing to full design verification responsibility, to implementing validated test methods and qualified test equipment into mass volume manufacturing. Outside of projects, the group supports Coloplast globally as the competence owners of test related expertise and the creation and validation of test methods.

Finally, it will be your job to allocate resources, manage project stakeholders, collaborate with the project managers and drive innovation via testing.

Experienced manager from a regulated industry
As a leader, you understand that leading specialists is much more about support and dialogue than anything else. And you believe that going to work must be fun and inspiring. At the same time, you have the drive to continue to develop this area and the can-do attitude we need to be part of a larger R&D set-up with multiple deliverables.

Moreover, we imagine that you:

  • Hold a degree within e.g. in engineering, pharmaceutics or life science combined with several years of experience from the medical device or pharma industry
  • Have a strong understanding of test strategy and development in a regulated industry
  • Have strong experience and knowledge of the medical device development process
  • Have good experience and understanding of the regulatory requirements for testing and verification for medical devices (Design Control, MDR etc)
  • Have 3-5 years of leadership experience
  • Are fluent in English
