Head of AI & Data Science 

Coloplast is strengthening its R&D organization with a Centre of Excellence (CoE) designed to accelerate innovation and secure crossfunctional impact. As Head of AI & Data Science within the CoE, you will lead a newly established department at our HQ in Humlebæk and set the strategic direction for how AI, data, and advanced analytics enable future product development and decisionmaking. 

Lead a Strategic, HighImpact Function 

In this role, you will build, inspire, and develop a team of AI specialists, data scientists, and Six Sigma experts. Your core responsibility is to establish a clear vision for how datadriven and AIenabled approaches support R&D’s longterm ambitions. You will translate opportunities into a coherent strategy, ensure strong stakeholder alignment, and drive adoption across functions. 

The department is positioned within the CoE alongside R&D process excellence, laboratories, preclinical & chemical analysis, and engineering analysis expertise within domains such as virtual modelling, robust design, and sustainability. This creates a unique platform for you to shape how advanced analytics and AI amplify existing competencies and unlock new ways of working. 

Above all, the focus of this role is leadership. First and foremost leadership of the team and the individuals within the team but also leadership of a strategic agenda. We have gathered high levels of expertise, established strong cross-organisational collaboration, and have reached an organizational maturity level within AI and data science, where there is excitement, plenty of use cases, and a willingness to explore and invest. To capitalize on this, we have established this new department and are now looking for a leadership talent to advance it.  

Responsibilities 

• Build and develop a highperforming team of 7 specialists through empowering, coachingbased leadership. 
• Provide clear strategic direction for the role of AI, analytics, and datadriven workflows across R&D. 
• Ensure strong data and organizational foundations, including data governance, that enable scalable and meaningful use of AI. 
• Strengthen crossfunctional alignment by integrating the department’s agenda into broader R&D strategies. 
• Communicate the value, potential, and limitations of AI and data in a way that informs decisionmaking at all levels. 
• Act as the primary voice for AI & Data Science within R&D and in collaboration with Global IT and digital functions.

• Ability to navigate large, matrixed organizations. 
• Professional proficiency in English.
