Commercial Director
Are you ready to lead a high-performing sales team and build strong commercial partnerships in a leading MedTech company where your work makes a real difference?
At Coloplast Denmark, we are looking for a commercial leader who combines strong people leadership, strategic business acumen, and proven sales execution.
As a key member of the Coloplast Denmark leadership team, you will lead the Sales & Tender team, strengthen partnerships with distributors and key healthcare customers, and drive our distribution business in Iceland. The role reports to the Country Manager for Denmark.
Welcome to Coloplast Denmark
At Coloplast Denmark, we are committed to make a real difference for people with intimate healthcare needs — and, as market leader, we take action to raise the standard of care.
As the Danish subsidiary and home market of the Coloplast Group, we are a team of approximately 50 colleagues across marketing, sales, tenders, finance and customer service. We work in a fast-paced environment, where collaboration, engagement and a strong customer focus drive commercial impact.
Your role
You will lead and develop a high-performing Sales & Tender team, while strengthening commercial partnerships with our distributors. Your role will focus on identifying, prioritizing, and executing growth opportunities to drive sustained sales growth and ensure access to our product portfolio across the Danish market.
In this role, you will be a strategic sparring partner to the Country Manager and provide clear, visible leadership internally and externally. You will foster strong cross-functional collaboration and inspire the wider organization to stay close to customer needs and deliver commercial impact.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Key member of the Danish leadership team and a central contributor to the commercial strategy, as well as leading strategic projects
• Drive sales through our primary channels: distribution partners, hospitals and municipalities
• Build and maintain commercial partnerships with our distribution partners in collaboration with the Country Manager
• Translate strategy into district plans in collaboration with the Sales Manager and ensure close alignment between sales execution and product/campaign launches in collaboration with Marketing
• Shape and drive tender strategy and pricing in collaboration with the Tender team, Finance and the Country Manager
• Lead tender processes across the full product portfolio, from shaping to operations, in collaboration with the Tender team
• Strengthen existing customer relationships and build new strategic relationships with key customers across the country, in close collaboration with the wider organization
• Ensure sales force effectiveness through account plans, performance management and S&T in collaboration with the Sales Manager and ComEx
• Lead sales and business development of our distribution business in Iceland
Proven experience in commercial partnerships, sales leadership and tender management
As a person, you are ambitious and results-oriented with a curious, opportunity-driven mindset. You are highly analytical and able to both dive into complex commercial challenges and step back to identify broader business opportunities. You value cross-functional collaboration, are execution-focused, and always put the customer first.
We imagine that you have:
• A relevant higher education, e.g. in economics, strategy or similar
• More than 5 years of experience in sales leadership, with a proven track record of delivering sales growth above market and leading high-performing sales teams
• Demonstrated ability to define commercial strategies, combined with a strong understanding of organizational development and change management
• Solid experience in building commercial partnerships with distributors and leading complex negotiations in a B2B environment
• Experience with the full tender cycle for large-scale and complex public tenders, ideally from SKI, Danish Regions and municipality purchasing communities
• Ability to build trust-based relationships and motivate people internally and externally
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to translate market insights into commercially viable action plans
• Fluent in Danish and English, written and spoken
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and experienced with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.com
It is an advantage if you have deep understanding of the Danish healthcare system and knowledge of the Danish tender dynamics, as well as experience with MedTech sales in Denmark.
